)This is how it will work...
Starting today and lasting until September 25th you can promote SeeD on other communities (where appropriate), to your friends, through events, on toplists (please post links here to get the maximum effect!) and to old members who have left. Many have been concerned with our activity and if enough participate we can fix that.
Some members have been mentioning the number of inactive members versus the number of active ones. We shouldn't be focusing on the number who are inactive but those who are active, for they are the life of the clan. Deleting members or whatnot won't fix anything but bringing new life into the clan directly will.
Word-of-mouth is one of the best forms of promotion and advertising if it can be managed, but if used it would completely depend on the members. We have the potential to grow enormously if we take it somewhere, and I'm sure that everyone would like a more active community.
Until the next update, please focus on promotion regarding Runescape. Following the next update you will be able to promote SeeD in some other games as well.
Still, through all this promotion we need to focus on quality and not just activity. Please avoid the following forms of promotion:
- Random recruitment on Runescape (like "Press 555 to join SeeD"). We want members who actually want to be in SeeD and not just those who want items. Recruitment on Runescape communities is fine because the details can all be laid out.
- Do not... I repeat, DO NOT advertise our website or even say a URL in the open on Runescape. It seems that players are being banned for that and we don't need to get into any more trouble. If absolutely necessary keep it in a PM, but if at all possible see if the other person has AIM or MSN and talk about the site there.
Also, please avoid the following:
- Banner exchanges, these should be handled by administrators.
- Search engine submissions, we have a "formula" to get on them and other submissions could cause trouble with that. Not a big and definite problem, but a potential problem.

To win:
Keep a log of URLs or members you got to register on the forums. On September 25th (around then), send SeeD Support your log in as detailed a manner as possible. You want to sound like you did a lot, just don't make up anything because we can check (including the IPs of members to be sure that they aren't the same person).
The title of your PM should be "Promotion Log".
All members of SeeD Support who wish to judge will list the logs in order of most promotion to least promotion (cannot have a specific formula because some methods can be creative and diverge from normal methods). The logs are not to be deleted. The rankings should be sent to me by the member of SeeD Support (not SeeD Support itself). I will tally up the results.
What You Can Win:
Top Promoter: A Hosted Forum and seven SeeD Emblems.
A Two-Way Tie For Top Promoter: Two Hosted Forums will be awarded (one for each) along with five SeeD Emblems for both winners.
Second Place: A Custom Group and seven SeeD Emblems. If already have a Custom Group, then can have a Custom Group Icon.
Third Place: Seven SeeD Emblems.
Everyone else who participated: Four SeeD Emblems.
In the case of a more-than-two-way tie: To be determined.
This can get you new acquaintances and friends, be fun (the more creative often the more effective), and can help SeeD's community directly! So if you ever wanted your own forum here or an early custom title, or to see a more active SeeD, this is the contest for you!
