Terakuu extends his neck to Harkin. He smiles.

"I'm sorry sir, I was just curious. As the King of Frionia, I must make sure all is right, know about this and that... I'm sure you understand. May I buy you a drink? You look awfully cold. Some cocoa, perhaps? Or maybe just an ale?"

*Harkin shakes his head*

"No, I don't need anything, I just need some time to think. The past few days have been really tough on me and I want nothing else to do with it. It is dangerous work and there's no money in it anymore. As for everyone else, I'm afraid that your Frionia is going to suffer the fate of the rest of the world, nothing is going to change. The cards have been dealt and things don't seem too good for Earthia. I am probably going to leave this world and work for one of the smuggling outposts on Sirius 5, I'm tired of all this and want nothing else to do with it..."

OOC: Sorry for asking here...but is this the start of -another- quest? Just wanna know so I know whether or not to participate. If not, I'll just guess it's normal talking, etc. etc.?

"Well, erm, what's the fate of the rest of the world...?"

"You mean you can't see it coming? Not only are the forces of good and evil going to tear this world apart, but the Corrorians aren't as well-off either. I'm not concerned with your petty war with Valeron, it does not concern me. The Corrorians are delving into something they should not touch however...

You people seem to like your history, yet what comes before your "First Age" seems to have wrongly been forgotten by all. No, I cannot explain it because I do not know it. But there is an ancient force which once almost destroyed this world, an energy not of this world. The Corrorians are under the control of this energy, they think they can harness it but they cannot. They wish to keep the existence of this energy a close-guarded secret for they don't want anyone to get in their way.

That is why they destroyed my ship. We were trying to stop them, but they got us first. I believe that I am the only survivor, but I am a mercenary. What good is a mercenary if there is no payment? That is why I am leaving, Earthia's situation is no longer a concern of mine."

Terakuu's eyes are wide now. His interest has most certainly been peaked.

"Excuse me, sir, I can understand how you are feeling. I would do all I could to help you. I honestly think you may need a tad of rest; it will most certainly do you good. I can see you are quite tired. However, you say the Corronians are harnessing great amounts of energy, and they cannot control it?

This ancient force you speak of... I cannot recall of it, yet it pounds in the back of my mind as if I knew exactly what it was and it's capabilities. I know it is of evil, and that much I know.

While I am of a light alignment, and very prejudiced against such as your kind, or mercenaries, I would be pleased to make you an offer; a great sum of money if you could inform me of this, or accompany me on a quest. You may name your terms. A force such as this is worth any sum of gold to be taken care of, and I control the funds of Frionia. What do you say I get you a nice room here, and you can get some rest, then maybe you could answer me in the morning?"

Lucien strides into the Inn slowly, forming the "clunkity-clunkity-clunk" of his solid black leather boots, of which, had to be his only scrap of decent clothing other than a cloak. Tugging the loose black satin together to garb himself from the harsh elements he shivered, "Brrr!!! Hooph!" Trotting a bit faster he made his way to a barstool near the old man, "Mrrph, you were the man with that fine rifle, weren't you?" He sunk into his seat a bit more, enjoying the warm spacious area while awaiting response.

A large white blob stumbles into the inn . The blob shakes and the white falls off, revealing a man! Oric continues into the bar and notices a table with 4 men at it. He recognizes three of them. On was that half man, half ferret thing he had seen in the cave. Another was that man he had seen at the dock where they salvaged the ship. And the last was Terakuu! The search was over at last! Oric pulls a chair over to the table and sits.

OOC: No, Oric knows he's a fox. But ferrets are better then foxes..... Actually, I just said that because I heard someone else post it in some other part of DS.

*Looking over at Lucien...*

"Hmm, kid, you need help and a good shave."


*Then, looking over at Terakuu...*

"Evil? What evil would consider both those of darkness and light an enemy? No, evil is not the right word for it. It has no purpose in this world, it is just here and all it is is a force of destruction. One which will corrupt, then control, then finally destroy.

Now, there will be no sum of money one can pay me to just walk into Corroria alone or with a few others, no way. What good are credits if you are dead? My face is probably plastered all over their holovision terminals with a big fat reward, that is unless they think I'm dead. If they think I'm dead, I wish to keep it that way. The Corrorians are not someone you want as your enemy."

*Harkin sighs*

"I guess if the reward is right I could help a little. A little! I'm not going to be some hero or something. I'll need more than money though, I will need a way to change my appearance. A disguise, perhaps... As much as I despise your magical ways, if you could give me some of your equipment to use instead of my composite armor I won't be so noticable.

Argh...

Perhaps some sort of cloak, if I walk into Corroria with your armor I will stick out like a blasted sore thumb. What I would do I do not know, heh, maybe I can steal myself a replacement hovercruiser. Hey, it would be a start."

*Harkin perks up slightly*

"Wait a minute. If you want me to give you a trip to the Corrorian Empire and you help me... Just by standing around or something, adding to the flavor of my disguise... And I get a new ship? That will be enough payment for this. This only, and don't be surprised if I choose a starship instead and leave Earthia. This place is really starting to smell funny..."

Hanako, who had been getting a cup of eggnog, finally toned in at around the end of the conversation. She looks curiously and a bit suspiciously at Harkin and wonders, "A ship? Like one from the docking bay in the Corrorian Empire? I'm.. Not sure.. Sounds dangerous to me... " She looks at Terakuu for reassurement, "Is it really worth the risk? I'm not sure of the bay's arms..Haven't been there before. Though, I also thought it was a kind of run down place." She quietly sips on her warm eggnog, and tries to stay warm under her wool blanket.

*Harkin looks over at Hanako*

"The only thing I'm doing in the Corrorian Empire now is getting a ship, whether someone comes or not. I don't wish to have a large party with me, perhaps only one. What will someone get for coming with me? A free trip to a couple secure areas and maybe some information. No guarantees, but I don't see anyone else around here who is familiar with the place. Without me you would probably be killed on the spot by one of their sentries anyway."
