You didn't understand the meaning behind my statement. When you are active in a flame fest chat, you aren't there to casually chat with friends...

Actually, Yes, Ech. Didn't bother reading this so I dunno if someone else commented on this. But we decided a while back (Cspace decided.) that we won't hold anything said in instant messengers against people within this clan. If done in form of a PM through the boards, that's another story. But you can block people on instant messaging. On here, you can't. No worries, EchiWechi grnwink.gif

From kc to hyper i think

"And as I said previously.. it's not like there's any point in leaving the convo, I'll just get reinvited anyway.

fore isn't my friend, he's never been added and never will be. his happiness is no concern of mine. why would I put forth the effort to ruin his day? I'm not a bad person, and I don't care about him at all. I see no logic in you just ignorantly accusing me."

another:

"You didn't understand the meaning behind my statement. When you are active in a flame fest chat, you aren't there to casually chat with friends... (quoting base)

and when you say your friends name, you're still accused of flaming.

But you can block people on instant messaging. (ruckus)

Not sure if you have msn or not, but a block on msn doesn't mean crap in a convo.
"

Still spoofing IPs? As was warned about in the related thread in GD, I am sorry but the official removal of your ban is now probably impossible.

Just so you know it could also be considered illegal, and if someone wanted to he/she could report this to your ISP.

Yeah but i saw base saying quite a few times "why were u in a flamefest convo"

He's allowed to ask, but that wasn't the only point about bringing it up. Maybe he has truth in what he's saying (after all he has been trying to stop these situations with Red for months), and maybe KC does, it doesn't matter in this circumstance. In the end neither KC's or Base's claims had anything to do with the action taken though, it was based only on what happened here.

There has been a progressive movement away from using these conversations as evidence as well. Not only can members be framed or blackmailed for harmless messages, but conversations can also very easily be faked. Some people are more credible than others, but to be fair we usually need to take them all with a grain of salt and a skeptic's eye unless something else is pointing to its validity.

To make a long story short I agree that the records of conversations alone should not be used to hold anyone responsible for anything. It just seems that a warning for the future went off the deep end, it really doesn't need to be discussed to such an extent.

They are illegal when trying to hack into a website. I would take the warning into consideration, a call to your ISP won't take long to complete.

And yet, I don't know crap about hacking, and don't want to.

You really think I want to endanger myself legally over a stupid game's clan forums?

Ffs, I'm trying to play a game, stop suspending my account.

Msn has nothing to do with it, anyone here could change their MSN name to pretend to be someone else, and flame to get them in trouble, or you could edit the conversation so the other person gets in trouble. Runescape is a bit so-so, you could edit that too though. Only thing that can't be forged is PMs and flaming on the boards, so that is what you are punished for.

And proxies aren't illegal... Except if they're trying to 'hack', which they're not. They're just trying to prove their case.

cant you just take a screenshot of a forum flame whenever something like this happens, and turn it in to the mod?
and besides, if someone flames you over msn or aim or yahoo, cant you just like... ignore them? do the things they say really matter that much to you?
i mean, i understand in the forums that a degree of civility needs to be maintained, and a mod has power to maintain it. but outside of the forums, its out of their power. it's like dragging your personal conflicts into the forum Whatever_anim.gif just settle it where it started, be it msn or aim or yahoo or IRL (punch him in the face! just kidding bluetongue.gif)
this is only what i think. if yall want to flame me, i dont care. neither should you when someone else insults you online.
