Yeah. When I have problems that I can't fix, what I like to call an "insane reinstall" usually helps:
1. Use the uninstaller to uninstall it, the way you're supposed to.
2. Dig though Program Files, Application Data, and similar folders. Find anything related to the program that hates you and delete it. Back it up if you must, but get it out of the way.
3. Delete any related registry entries (I recommend
RegCleaner).
4. Restart your compy.
5. Reinstall the program.
With luck, it'll fix it. I've had seemingly-irreparable bugs in Trillian, Firefox, and a few other programs that I got rid of with this method. (It's also handy for a few other things as well... arrrrr, but I not be mentionin' them to ye'
