Need help fast.

Aight, I NEED to talk to someon I know on AIM today, and right now I'm having this problem:
Whenever I start AIM, it gives me the 'do you want AIm as your default IM thing' message. No matter what I click, it freezes and I can't actually get on AIM. Anybody know a faster solution than reinstalling it, better hurry up and tell me bluetongue.gif

EDIT: Reinstalling wont fix it O.o

well if you already reinstalled it reistall it again but delete it from the registry before you reinstall it, after you uninstall it..

Yeah. When I have problems that I can't fix, what I like to call an "insane reinstall" usually helps:

1. Use the uninstaller to uninstall it, the way you're supposed to.
2. Dig though Program Files, Application Data, and similar folders. Find anything related to the program that hates you and delete it. Back it up if you must, but get it out of the way.
3. Delete any related registry entries (I recommend RegCleaner).
4. Restart your compy.
5. Reinstall the program.

With luck, it'll fix it. I've had seemingly-irreparable bugs in Trillian, Firefox, and a few other programs that I got rid of with this method. (It's also handy for a few other things as well... arrrrr, but I not be mentionin' them to ye' grnwink.gif)
