Right now our community's greatest need is for new members. We all want more activity and growth, because everything will be more lively and we'll be able to accomplish more! It's really not hard to invite new members.

You can invite your friends, mention us in a signature, post about us on other sites, support us on the topsites, host promotional events, push our community for new recruits in our factions, and really anything else that works for you. It's really one of the easiest ways to help a guild, I don't understand why some think they're incapable of making an impact in this area. It's just a misconception, when you try it you'll see for yourself how much you can actually help us. thumb.gif

We've been neglecting this for a long time, but that doesn't mean we should keep up with that harmful trend. Let's look back at what allowed us to grow and succeed in the past. Recruiting had always been a focus during those times. We have much more going for us now, which should make it even easier than before.

When it comes to recruiting and promotional efforts, I really like to give a lot back in return. Tier promotions come rather easily for those who recruit, selective Arbiter positions will come more easily if requested, I plan to give more fader messages, I'll be more likely to give favors such as an extra display name change, among other things. While a moderator update is not imminent, promotional efforts can be significant when it comes to a decision for choosing new moderators. For those who are involved in DS, I'll also give Cinii and perhaps other items for those who help with promotion.

Don't underestimate how much this is appreciated! In my opinion, right now, this is the biggest contribution one can realistically make to help our community... And it's so easy. Everyone will appreciate the activity you bring to us!

So please don't take this lightly or assume that others will do it... This is your calling to help. Don't think for a second that it will go unnoticed! icon_worship.gif

Like I said in the Cspace/SeeD Sigs forum, those promotional sigs and such need changing because of our recent name decisions (Arbiter's Order). grnwink.gif

Bribery?

Why can't I give something in return for what would benefit the entire guild, but everyone seems reluctant to try? bluetongue.gif

Whether some realize it or not, I've been giving Tier promotions for recruiting efforts for a while. I would have also taken it into account for selective positions, but nobody has really asked about them. As for mod positions, as far back as I remember, recruitment has been one of many factors when a decision had to be made. Right now, more than any time since 2002, recruiting will help the community and guild more than anything else.

Many who were around during or before 2003 say that 2003 was our best year. Most of them joined in 2003. That's because everyone knew the value of recruiting, and growth is a great thing for a guild. It was because of that spark that we reached what was arguably a peak, but we're capable of more today if only promotion were realized to once again be important.

Today many of us feel incapable of it, or even argue against the need. That really needs to change if we desire greater success, because without growth, in the longterm the only way to go is down.

... But as for the fader messages and DS stuff, yeah, it's bribery. biglaugh.gif

The Arbiters Order: Knights of Arcturus is now recruiting! We're the Age of Empires faction of The Arbiters Order (Formerly SeeD), a multi-game guild based in the gaming community of CurvedSpace. Our guild has been around since 2001, and we have recently begun our expansion into the RTS genre. KoA is at the front of the charge, and everyone is welcome to join!

As a member of KoA you're not only a member of an Age of Empires guild, but you're also a member of something greater. We have things going on in many games, from Age of Empires, to Runescape, to World of Warcraft, to Guild Wars, to GunZ, and well beyond. On top of that we are a direct part of CurvedSpace, a gaming site and community that provides over 200 arcade games, the roleplaying game DarkStorm (based on a real game that we are designing), chats, and more. There are always things happening!

Our community is also quite friendly. We accept all players regardless of skill, and our more experienced members are almost always willing to provide assistance to those who ask.

We have also, for the most part, forsaken sanity... We may be friendly but the inmates are running the asylum.

Here, although it's centered around Runescape. I don't think we have a general one yet.

That's awesome, thanks a lot! thumb.gif

You should probably copy that to this thread so others would be more likely to see it. yes.gif

I plan to write a few more as well, and hopefully others will try. Anything to make recruiting easier for everyone is worth it.
