There happens to be concentrated alcohol in most mouthwashes, combined with fluoride. Both may seem harmless in small doses, and on skin. But those two are the reason why you don't want to start chugging the stuff. They will only bother any wounds in your mouth and will more than likely hurt quite a bit.
Generally, bleeding from the throat in any case is serious. I know for certain...NC-17 reasons. If you're full on bleeding from the back of your throat, get your {expletive antidisestablishmentarianized by Cspace} over to a doctor. But all in all, wounds in the mouth heal extremely quick as far as cuts and infections. That's because our saliva is, surprisingly, clean.

I second all of that except for bleeding from the throat..never had that happen before.
Non-alcoholic mouthwashes are much better for you. They don't have the same drying effect. This is why people with oral piercings (HAI!) are recommended to not use an alcoholic mouthwash, or dilute it if it's all they can get. The alcohol is an irritant and greatly slows healing. Oral piercings are always the fastest to heal and the least likely to get infected - like Ruckus said, this is thanks to saliva.
In other news, migraines do indeed much suck. Heat headaches are also horrible. Why oh why must it nearly be summer?!
