A Google Web Browser

Today, Google released Chrome, their new open-source web browser. I'm actually using it now to post this.
The only way I can describe it is super awesome. Actually, super crazy awesome might work.
The GUI is minimalist, which is good for me, and you can integrate GMail and other stuff with it seamlessly. Whenever you open a new tab they show you your most visited webpages, as well as a list of tabs you have recently closed. Pretty convenient!
Anyway you can find it at http://www.google.com/chrome/. Fun stuff!

I've been playing around with it a good bit now, and I like it a lot.
The tabs are all separate sessions, so if one locks up you don't lose them all. Being able to move them between windows at will is useful too.
So far I am pleased.

Haven't played with it yet, but read about its technical side (in the form of a Scott McCloud comic, no less—nice touch) and like the sound of it.
When you think about it, their approach makes total sense. I know I've complained (eh, commented) a few times about "Web 2.0" and about how web pages aren't really the best medium for online apps, since they're basically hacked into something that wasn't designed to support them. Google says hey, since we're far enough down that road that we're not turning back any time soon, let's just make a new browser to accomodate the way we use the web today. Oh. Got it.
Kudos to them for open-sourcing it as well.

EDIT: First impression: I miss my Firefox extensions (PMOG where are you?!). I miss that I can set Firefox to clear my private data upon closing the browser. Granted you can do it with a few clicks in either browser, and the ability to open an "incognito tab" is a nice compromise. I'll play more later; I have work to do.

Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

I'm still sticking with firefox (Just for addons and extensions) but i'm definitely looking forward to using google chrome down the road.

Well you didn't, actually. I just got sick of imageshack and their new ads which bypassed my addons <__<

I'm giving it a try currently. I'm finding the layout a bit odd and there's a few things that are annoying me about it, but that's pretty much just because of how used to Firefox I am. I'll probably end up going back to Firefox for now at least, but I guess I might end up reconsidering once I take a look at their equivalent efficiency with applications. Although since FF 3 doesn't leak as much memory as it used to that's probably not quite as large a consideration.

OMNOMNOMNOMEMORYfox3 is using like... 120MB for just this page and youtube. I'd switch to chrome, but I need my addon fix.
More addons = more memory.

(mostly, there are exceptions)
