I was reading world magazine the other day, and I saw this thing called the Top Ten Coolest Techs. There was a suit that doubled your strength.
How Much? $20,000
Then there was an invisibility cloak(yeah, they finally exist) that projects an image from a camera on your back on your front, making you look invisible.
Retail:$5000
WWhy does all this stuff that costs so little to make cost so much!? Stupid markup...
HI! I'M BACK SPORADICALLY! Nobody probably remembers me :(

Wow, that is really awesome that they have stuff like that.

And to answer your question as to why it costs so much to buy items like that, I must say that it has little to do with how much it costs to make them. You see, in developing things like that, it takes MILLIONS sometimes even BILLIONS of dollars for patents, copyrights, research and development, man-power, etc. And when these items first come out, there are only a few of them...maybe 100 or so. Thus, to make all those MILLIONS even out, the price has to be divided among the 100, thus the expense is passed onto the consumer...but only until these items become really popular, then prices can start to go down.
