What Happen When You Die? That's the question

Well, as a Jew, I don't believe in heaven or... the other place. Truly, there have been times when, lost in thought, my mind suddenly strayed to the topic of death. I, personally, attempt to avoid the thought, but I just see it sometimes as eternal blackness, almost unawareness, in a place between sleeping and waking, consciousness and unconsciousness... Kinda scary really. But I sometimes almost think of it as peace, as I see myself as old and feeble and hurting everywhere when I die. Stil...

I have two theories *groans from everyone*
1: You will be reborn: Basicly(?), look at Asyluman's storie idea in book/literature.
It's about a girls life slowly becoming redone, like what the fates did in ancient greek mythology.
2: You just end. Since you are dead, you have no feelings, no thoughts.
But seeing as we have that, it is impossible to imagine what it was like.
Do you remember when you were just an embryo? That's what this theory is about, no feelings.
But then, my imagination kicks in, and I envision a necromancer raising the dead, who serve as slave for war untill they fall.

ouch...A hard topic to tackle...first I can tell you what I dont believe in. I dont beklive in reincarnation. as the human population doubles every 50-100 years fromwhat I understand. So that would mean that either a new soul is born for every one that comes back or that souls divide like cells when they are reborn. the whole idea is nice I guess...getting another go at the whole life thing. but I think it is just for people who want to believe that death isnt permenent, and since they can't concieve of an after life that suits every one they imagine that they just get to vcome back and have a better or worse life depending on how they lived theyre previous one.... I have done some writings on this very subject and here is an exerpt from some of that, wich i used to attempt to validate death and life as tangible things(if somewhat un-succesfuly): "to define a thing- to give it meaning- I belive you must find that things contrast...its oppisite. If there was no darkness then light would have no meaning. There must be an opisite rto every thing in order to decerne where one ends and another begins. I believe that it is in death that we give meaning to life, and it is in life that we give meaning to death. everything that has a begginning must have an end. Life ends in death, and death must also end in life. if it did not then there would only be life, and since I believe that everything has an opisite that cannot be...at least to my mind. So then, life and death is circular."
...I made several modifications to make that more understandable for people but what I just wrote is from memory as I lost the original papers. my dad is currently working ona truth table of some sort to validate life and death mathmativaly, i'll let you all know how that gos....weather death is an abyss we must all fall into eventualy, or a river that needs to be crossed. I think the real question is, what comes after death if any thing? I do spend more time thinking about death then most people I know. I have even designed my tomb. but as in quantum mechanics...well...that way lies maddness, so I would advise any one who asked not to dwell on it to much, or you will miss out on life.

Well.... that was... unexpected...
Maybe death's like a big retirement home! And the are tons of people playing golf or Phantasy star online or maybe even reading the news!
Quote from Jesus in Heaven animation
RADIO: In recent news, Syria has declared war on Israel.
JESUS: Oh my father!

I have 3 teories:
1: Reincarnation. Remember, esron, that if you're reincarnated, you can be reincarnated into any living creature, not neccesarily a human. So if there's an increase in humans, maybe there's a decrease in another race. I'm just saying maybe. But it doesn't sounds likely, does it? It's more like a dream, i think, you wish to be reincarnated to live forever. But what happens between you die and you're reborn? Nothing? Does it take an instant? Does time have anything to say in this? Too many questions...
2: This one is more like a wish, almost like the "ferret overlord"'s
When you come to heaven, you start off with a big meal while watching your life on a tape. Afterwards you get to the computer-heaven
Where you can play all the computer games you want.
3: Nothing!!! You come to place with no conscioussness(not sure how that's written). Eternal darkness. No feelings...
But it's impossible to guess really... Time will tell what happens...

It would take years to watch that tape... I like the other part, though.

technically it won't, because there will be no time after you die to tell if you fall into nothingness.

yeah...time can only tell if it continues after death...or something like that. I think people have always looked to other people who claim to have died and come back. that is probably becuase they claim to know what happens when you die. people follow these people becuase they cant wait to find out for them selves. it is easier just to believe what some one who claims to have been down that road says, then to go there your self with un-certainty...oh btw danny wells, I did over look that in re-incarnation people can come back as animals, or animals as people. we are pushing alot of species toward extinction so it would make a little sence(less and less animals, and more and more humans). but if so then wouldn't people who did bad be reverted to animal form and thus balance it all out? I would think so. that doesnt seem to be evident by the numbers. but it is still a nice thought. I kind of liked the idea of the after life that the movie "what dreams may come" offerd up.
