he's not talking about npc trails, he's talking about actual people making up clues, giving them to you, and the first person to solve all of the clues gets an actual person-made prize.

It doesn't involve runescape treasure trails at all, more of a treasure hunt.

Hmm... I probably won't be able to make it due to time (7 AM for me), but I'll see what I can do (if the situation with mom's work remains as it is, I'll probably be wide awake at 7 AM anyway).

Good idea though. I've seen it work in EverQuest, and it should work on RS as well.
