No no no... I mean, people are cursing at me when I tell them to follow the rules. Trust me, hockey is competitive is enough. If that's "competitiveness", I'd rather be timid.
Gym rules, or rules of the game itself? You might be overlooking the fact that Pennsylvania is a huge hockey state, and many kids will know how to play hockey. They will try to get the games just like the way they play.

Gym rules/ game rules. Gym rules as in (since there are no goalies) stay out of the crease( Little semi circle around the goal)
I KNOW the NHL rules..

I would, but our school, for some reason, has the stupid policy of "It takes two to tango." Even if the teacher sees them hit you, and you hit them back, ooooh, suspension! God...
Well, if you are too scared to stand up for yourself, then you would need to tell the teacher to watch a game of hockey, but not make it too obvious. That way, if you do get hit, the teacher would know.

Ferret gets hurt a lot in hockey, why, i don't know. As for me, i'm a big guy, if someone were to bother me, the prospect of having a 5-4, 130 pound, competitve swimmer with a hockey stick take no mercy on them makes them immediately apologize (just today I was going up against a person and his stick hit my hand hard, he apologized, the game continued. What is what should happen). I knock people around a bit in hockey, that bit can rise if they want it to. Sometimes it does for a select special few (controlled to the point of being legal and okay)
I play agressively, and sometimes I make a mistake and may hit the ball higher than a person's head or hit a person into a wall, I say sorry, it won't happen again and check to see if the person is okay (basic nice guy stuff. Ferret can attest that I'm a pretty nice guy). These new hockey players disregard everything
Anyways, today was my last gym day, to which I say: WOOOOOOOO! School's almost over!

Hit in the leg 5 times today with the ball. They are now huge bruises. Brought the ball down the court. WHAM! Block the goal. WHAM! Stomach got hit too. Kinda sucks... Maguire and Cambell are lazy, Perenza (rat tail kid) clears it with out hesitation, not even aiming, and to top it all off, they're jerks about it!

Right. No more off-topicness. My conclusion is that our school reading system really sucks. The gym system isn't as bad, but it still has it's flaws.
^ agreed
*hopes next year hockey gets better, reading changes a lot, and he does well on his math final. Along with hoping racial and social injustices across the world stop*
