Police: Pups killed with fireworks placed in their mouths
I say they deserve at the very minimum, 5 years in "Federal-pound-me-in-the-turkey-prison", a fine, and counseling. Your thoughts?
This Makes Me Sick.... What kind of punishment should they get?

torture is illegal, and if they're sane, they're probably torturing themselves with guilt
and I agree: 5 years minimum, plus counseling and fines. Some community service could be thrown in, too.

Um, Roadtoad...most people who engage in violent crime are already sociopaths, or at least in the making... The other ones who do it are the "followers." Any criminal justice person can tell you about that. The instigators/aggressors are the ones who have no conscience are are anti-social. The lackeys, they MAY feel bad, but it's not enough to save those animals' lives now...they still need punishment. Maybe next time they'll grow a set and not wanna fit in to the point of being willing to kill for it.

I think the penalty should be greater than 5 years. Think about it. They commited murder. Do we consider ourselves greater and better than dogs? I mean, really, sure we're smarter and all that, but look at all the horrible stuff we do as well. We're like the only species that kills its own kind. So why should the penalty for killing an animal be lesser than the one for killing a human? I know this will receive tons of criticism, but its just another point of view.
