Lol, I think we're suddenly going to get a mass of people wanting to become commanders
. It said commander and above, so I presume Generals and upwards don't have to be in command of a garden to apply. (not sure how that applies to other specialty ranks)
I don't qualify for Commander, and at that time-zone I'll be hard-pressed making it to any of the meetings
. I'm really not a morning person, and thats 5 AM Sunday morning for me. I'm not trying to sound selfish or anything, but perhaps if it's not working for quite a few people we should take a vote on when would suit better, or have the time it's at rotating, so that one group of people doesn't miss out.

Commander is the lowest rank, other than the unused Specialty Groups and members with no rank...
As long as I'm here, I'll point out that I can't do this due to the busy factor... plus, that's 11 AM for me, and I'm inclined to sleep on weekends

Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

This is a small part of the reason that I would be afraid to implement any defined organizational systems to run SeeD (such as a council). Not that it is anyone's fault, but nothing like that can function if we don't know how SeeD functions first. This is also part of the reason that newer members feel that they have little power, they don't understand how we are intended to function when they join (due to the number of things which happen specifically on the forums as well, has nothing to do with how much is read on the site but how much is experienced). From this, as more members join, we just lost our implied systems as older members left and newer members became more influential. As things go on and minor aspects change, our underlying organizational system is obscured and sometimes forgotten.
Not a big deal though, it's all on the Ranks page.
If you have a position listed literally above Commander on the list, then you are elligable to become a full-time meeting leader (as long as the other requirements apply to you).
Note: Please don't respond to my mention of the organization here, it's not what this thread is about but just wanted to say something about it.

From comments posted here some good points were brought up. While we are selecting three meeting leaders (of which at least one should attend almost every meeting), we may be able to set something up for those below Commander. If anyone has suggestions for a different related position please post them here.

We can try out three, and if it's hard for them to attend events (not their faults of course), then we should be able to add more.
