I'm not saying that we are going to allow insane spamming and whatnot where not appropriate, but I'm just saying that mods will lighten up on everyone. Flaming and similar offences will be handled in the same way, but minor things such as short posts, thread revivals, and posts in slightly the wrong places will not warrant instant moderation. They don't need it.
The forums are here for the members and the mods help maintain a friendly community, that is how everything is intended to function. That is what we are striving to re-establish.
That means that the members, too, should not come down on each other over minor things. Please keep the following in mind:
- There are no requirements for spelling or grammar. Members could be young, of a non-English-speaking country, or just abusers of web lingo (

- Some forums overlap. For example, a post about a video game or a new band is not off-topic in GD (not encouraged, but perfectly fine if desired to be posted there). The more specific forums are there for specific reasons and truly off-topic posts there can be moved (like a non-trivia post in the Trivia Forum). An exception, however, is with something such as a suggestion which requires specific attention. Posts such as these can be moved with links to the correct forum. Otherwise, please let members have freedom regarding where their posts are posted.
- Thread revivals are completely fine. You don't need to verbally object a revived post, if you really wish for it to remain dead then just don't post in it. If others agree then it will just disappear again. Otherwise, if members wish to post in an old thread, why stop them? Some may even like seeing old posts brought back such as early recruitment posts or classic spam in the Insanity Board

- Spam includes pointless posts. For example in a thread about dogs, spam could be a five-word post saying that the poster is eating ice cream right now. Spam is not defined as any short post. If someone posts a four-word reply, while it is not really recommended, as long as it is on-topic it doesn't require negative mention. Spam is often short but a short post is not always spam. If an off-topic post is of any length then it is not considered "spam" but is just off-topic. If really off-topic it can be split from the thread.
- Double-posting is not recommended but is not against the rules. In normal threads it should instead just be an edit, but in some very active threads an edit would not always be noticed. If a thread is active to the point where someone will post in the period of time required for an edit, just post again instead. This will make your addition more noticable. Anything more than a double-post, however, is subject to be edited by a moderator if deemed necessary.
Also, don't be afraid to use the Mod Appeal Board. If a post was wrongly moved or deleted another moderator is likely to fix it for you, and unless you post your concern there nothing will probably be done.
