my mates did mention something about time travel, but at that point i stopped listning because they were making it up i thought. and didnt grey fox and snake used to be freinds? as i rember you had to take fox out (non-cyberneticsuperninja gray fox) in a mine field, simply because he was on the opposite side. ah well, it will be a fun game either way. is it just me or have all the metal gear games after you finished em (so far anyway) given you loads of questions to answer, sort of... erm... i forget the word. except "sons of liberty". i finished that, watched the cool ending then went away thinking that raiden should be forced to listen to his own incessent wining. my got that guy is an idiot....

Sorry for the double post but MORE stuff found out by...me reading a magazine....

you are dropped in via a HALO jump (the world's first) into somewhere like tshelisovark?!?! (so wrong) where you've got to rescue solokov (the guy who's made metal gear).

But according to PSM (playstation magazine) this is just a total set up to totally baffle us, like they did with hiding raiden, and actually the whole jungle section is a VR type training thing for either snake or raiden and the main story follows.

but then psm went a bit wacko and descided to say this. 'you run in to rescue solokov where you are confronted and shot by ocelot. You then see someone remove a VR helmet to show a white mop of hair. Yep it's Raiden...on the moon' Well the moon bit may be wrong but it sounds plausable(ish).

Anyway back to solid facts:-
no rations you kill stuff and eat it

(5 confirmed meals)
- rat
- bees nest
- snake
- toadstools
- gavial (a big crocdile thing who you can kill in 1 of two ways a) shoot it to death or a considerably more fun b) when it opens chuck a grenade down its gob and watch it explode )

also close quater combat is improved you can now:-
- throw enemies to the floor when in headlock
- slit enemies throats when in headlock (like how vamp kills the 6th navy seal in mgs2)
- kick em in the knee to get em on the ground

other stuff:-
- you can now shoot while in hanging mode (but only using handguns) to reload he pulls the clip out with his mouth and gets another

- camoflage patterns and stuff with different ones for different places

- the ability to climb trees

if its raiden then kojima is the master of decieving everyone and...we'll all hate him for it.

But the MORE likely possibilities are that you will play as big boss and at some point solid snake. (check the gamefaqs forums for crazy stories and rumours)
