From Cspace's latest Emoticon post in Announcements...

A few ideas from me about arranging our Smilies...

Firstly, I believe that we should make the "Clickable Smilies" thing on the left a big bigger, so maybe it can hold 32 smilies (Add 3 rows). (Makes it easier to just access a few of em' bluetongue.gif) As well as that, I think it would do us good to hold some kind of poll (Not sure how), but maybe make it so we, the people, decide which smilies go up there, with the smilies with the most votes going up. biglaugh.gif I'm not exactly sure this would work, but Cspace could probably make a temporary sub-forum inside GD or Announcements entitled "Smily Voting" There would be a pinned topic, where Cspace would explain how long the voting is open until and possibly a few rules. It would be unlikely that anyone but him (and possibly Super Mods, not sure) would be able to post in there. But, anyway, we would set up X amount of posts to accomodate the amount of smilies that actually have a chance to go up there (excluding ones such as ebdungeon.gif), and then people would be able to vote once in each poll. From that, we would either be able to decide through the winner in each poll, or just the overall top vote-getters. This might not work, but... It could flash.gif

Also, we could maybe make it even so we grouped them into different groups, such as Holiday, Happy/Agreement, Sad/Opposed, Anger, Miscallaneous, etc. Please give feedback thumb.gif

Anyways, now that this singer.gif is finally over, please tell me what you think of this. TheSmile.gif

I don't think you can make the smiley box bogger.

yeah, i would like the smilie box bigger, and if possible, you can put your own ones in there, like a custom favourite list bluetongue.gif (nu uh.. dont think thats possible bluetongue.gif)

Empty sig is empty.

He might be able to do some of these. I forgot we were on the new version of the forums.

Custom favourites would be fantastic, but I'm not sure it's possible. We'd have to ask Cspace, he's the master of such things.

I like your ideas Hyper, but you may be making things needlessly complicated. Although having a sub-forum and posts for each might give us the most accurate result, few will take the time to go through and do each one, and it'd be a lot of work to get started and to check. A better alternative might just be to create a pinned topic where people can suggest smilies they like. People that agree can reply/quote/etc., and we can get a broad idea of what people like. A few of the more basic ones would have to be there still, the ones that are used a lot.
