It has become obvious that no active community can be completely free from those who sometimes feel the need to post the occasional negative post. Some of us see no purpose in it while others think it is necessary sometimes. I also understand how hard it sometimes may be to keep things bottled up.

I will stand by keeping the community as insult-free and friendly as possible.

However, an idea has been tossed around a bit about a forum for those "outbursts". A place with a clearly visible warning where rules are slightly relaxed for those times that some members just have to let off some steam. Please look below for the ideas:

Rant Forum: A place where you can let off steam basically. No excessive profanity rules (no racial or religious put-downs though), however it must not be directed at any specific members or member groups. Basically if you are angry about something this is the place to post it. Harassment and flaming rules apply here. Rants will be limited slightly so they won't indirectly hurt someone here but you can speak your mind about mostly anything.

This forum can also link to a chat for the occasions when heated debates come up which could result in flaming or other problems. Flaming will not be allowed on the board but what happens in that chat would be out of our control if one goes there for that reason; if two members consent to debate their problems they can do it there safely as long as it is not brought back to the board. It would be better there privately than in other forums where it could erupt. Others are not to take a part in anything debated there unless they consent to it and it involves them.

Open provocation or demands to take a problem to this chat by someone involved (such as "get in there and let's finish this or you're a girly man" bluetongue.gif ) will be treated as harassment. A mod, however, can request that it is brought there. Whether it is or not depends on both involved (or the occasional case where more than two are involved). If you must duke it out with someone, though, you should do it there instead of here (and don't bring it back to the forums in any way).

Blog Forum: This would be a thread-only (no reply) forum where members can post blogs for themselves and keep updating them for all to see (by editing). They must not put down specific members but they can include anything... Including what you enjoyed and what you disliked about something or SeeD. This is just another way to express yourself. All rules apply except profanity rules are slightly relaxed.

Please post your ideas or changes and be sure to vote after considering these. Regardless of whether any of this is implemented, they would be quickly taken down if abused or bad effects come from them. If both are implemented, one would be a sub forum of the other.

Basically it's a "Crescens Has Been Defenestrated" forum for everyone bluetongue.gif . I don't think good things could come from this, but I say we give it a try and see if it works out.

(Read it this time bluetongue.gif) I basically agree with Reikin in this one. But, I don't see the purpose of "Blog forum". If it's just a forum where people post the bad stuff that happens to them that no one wants to read, they do that anyways in other forums, so I dunno.

PS: Not really needed info, but I just hurt my hip joint (Felt like dislocating it, I did it before) when I got out of the weird position I was typing in.

PSS: ^Would that be considered "Blog"?

I could really use a rant forum right now.. Stupid teachers and setting homework... Stupid parents and chores... right on the night theres a gunbound tournament with school friends sad.gif

^^Example bluetongue.gif (i dont have homework, not many chores, but there is a gunbound tournament on biglaugh.gif )

I have my doubts about the Rant forum, I think once people are given more relaxed rules they're likely to abuse them and take things too far. This may seem cynical, but from what I've seen recently it seems the most likely thing to happen. If other people want it and are willing to be careful it's probably worth a try, but I'm a little worried about the outcome.

Blog forum sounds fine to me. There are plenty of people out there that keep online journals, also known as 'blogs'. It gives people a place to rant about what they're going through, good times and bad. It also means those posts are kept out of other boards, I know it upsets some people to have to wade through them. Not sure if replies should be allowed or not. Some people like to get responses, like people to reply to these kind of things. Is there some way to led the thread poster choose if people can reply or not? (I think it's possible with polls, not sure otherwise)

Closing this for now because the idea may change or disappear as a result of this poll.
