My Try to get Inactive People Removed

Its not a good idea anywayz, i changed my mind

As it says in that thread, old people tend to come back everyone and again, and post sometimes, and they wouildnt, if they had to register all over again..

anywayz, there are a few good points raised in there bluetongue.gif

Meh, we really wouldn't gain anything from deleting members, heh. Anywho, as stated in the topic above:

QUOTE
Deleting Members (SeeD or forums): Regardless of whether for statistical purposes or for the convenience of knowing who is active, we are not mass-deleting members (at least until a real problem arises with the server itself requiring otherwise, but I don't see this anytime soon). For statistics I can check other more detailed sources and quote them, and more would be lost than gained by just knowing who is active. More would be gained in the long run by having the door open for old members to return with their profiles and everything intact.

Yeah, it's been brought up quite a few times. A number of people do return (say if they bookmark the page then find it months later), but many won't bother to sign up a second time. It doesn't hurt anything to keep them, and it may hurt those members if we decide to delete them. It's not a bad suggestion, it's just one that we've debated and worked on a great many times, with that as a result.

How about we have an inactive member list and an active one? Whenever someone from the inactive list logged on or posted, he/she would automatically be filed in the active list. If a person on the active didn't log on or post for a month or so, they would get filed under inactive. This way, even if people take long vacations or short breaks from the clan, once they log on, they'll be categorized as active again.

But I'm guessing this won't work because it would be hard to implement.

That's quite a good idea. I think it may have been suggested before, but with the idea of personally filing members back into active or inactive. Obviously that isn't going to work, I'm just not sure how it could be set up automatically.
