Call me stupid, but, what is the significance of the location of the signal in that part of the sky?

to answer your question, I won't call you stupid. but i will point out that it is rather obvious.

It's not important where the signal came from, It's that one came at all! We've never been contacted by aliens, this might be the first time. There might be someone else out there that we can talk to! wouldn't that be cool?

i don't think so the goverment probly coverds it up (USA goverment to be exaced)
With roswell and a 50 othere crash site here in usa that no 1 knows about /talk about i only know of 2. 1 in rosswell and anothere in i think kuntucky
but i know poeple that worked in sector 56 that have sead that thay have seen aliens and i saw on the discovry chanle that some one was being iterved and sead that thay have ben and seen alien space craft in scetor 56

thats cool about the single and all i am not supresd the us goverment has not sead any thing about it that i am awar of but i will look into it

All I know for sure, is that I haven't seen aliens with my own eyes. I can't prove it. It's fine that you beleive what those people said, and they could very well be right.

But I like to see things for myself. So far, I haven't gotten any solid proof of a government coverup of aliens, so I'm not beleiving it.

As far as that signal goes, that's pretty exciting!

Call me stupid, but, what is the significance of the location of the signal in that part of the sky?

The location in the sky shows from where the signal is coming. Say that a signal has been found coming from the star Vega (not that there is one, just an example). If after pointing telescopes back at that location we see the signal again it is a candidate for E.T. (I believe this signal is the only one which was seen more than once). If it is confirmed that a signal is alien, the location shows where the aliens are. Could also show us where to target our signals if we wish to contact them.

On another hand, it could determine if it was caused by interference from a satellite or similar source.

In terms of this thread, however, the location is important because it shows that the signal which I posted a few months ago is probably the one they are talking about in the article. After entering the RA and DEC into Starry Night Pro (a planetarium program) it showed that this signal is between Aries and Pisces - This is the same location of the questionable signal in the article. From the location, appropriate time duration, and the strangeness of the signal (strange enough that it is the only unit that I took time to take screenshots of), it is very likely that this is the one that they are talking about.
