Is anyone here taking, or has taked C++ at all? I just had my first day of it today (Also I'm 2 days behind, stupid schedule..), and I was wondering who I could come to if I needed help with something bluetongue.gif

Maybe Phieta, Crescens, Cspace, or MoS has taken it?

Ugh, I have to install this thingy on my comp that'll take up 12 gigs I was told indiff.gif

And then there's another class called Java I think it is, but I don't think I'm gonna take that next year.

I taught myself for a while, pretty difficult though.

Cspace would've definately taken it, it's one of the most flexible programming languages, why wouldn't he? bluetongue.gif

C++ is a computer programming language.

Thanks for letting me know who took it, and who is taking it. I might come to you for help on it if I need it bluetongue.gif

But since I missed 2 classes, I have to install this massive program, and read 32 pages indiff.gif

Ahhh, old C++, I don't quite like it, and wish I took Delphi or something else, but I do kinda know it, though I got bored fast.

They only offer C++, Java, Computers, and Computers AP or something. They don't offer much. I'm trying to take anything I can get in computers. If this C++ goes well, I'll take Java.

I'm taking (Q)Basic next year, as it's the first programming language they teach (Since we'll only be in year nine). After that they teach more, but they use basic to introduce programming.

I daren't tell the teacher I figured out basic in year five. bluetongue.gif

I'm currently breezing through a course of Visual Basic at my school. My teacher for it is hopeless, but the course isn't that hard. Me and a few friends help each other out with problems, we're about to finish the final task and we're halfway through the elective.

They're actually teaching an outdated version though, so this holidays I might take a look at a Visual Basic .Net book I got a while back, teach myself some of that. I've heard it's very similar, but different enough to be troublesome. After that I might learn some C++.

Sorry I can't help you, Serphy.

Cspace, Gray-stone, and I took C++ last year. Unfortunately I don't have a compiler for .cpp files on my computer, so I can't program anything in the language at home, and I may very well be more than a tad rusty.
Cspace - "Eagles may soar but turkeys don't get sucked into jet engines" says:
I bow to the supreme wrath of Lord Crescens.

Thanks again for letting me know who has taken, or is taking it.

Right now we are doing the "Hello world!" program.

My brother taught me a tiny bit of C++; I got about as far as you are right now ("Hello world!"). I know quite a bit of QBasic (which is insanely easy), but that's about it unless you count HTML (which isn't really programming...). When I make programs I tend to use TGF (The Games Factory), which is more powerful and harder to use than its name suggests (though it's still easy - and it's object-oriented, not a language.)

Somewhere I have an outdated C++ compiler that's on 80 or so floppies bluetongue.gif
Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.
