Anyway, the rank of Captain would basically be a specialized position under General and above Commander. The position could have different focuses for different members. For example, there could be Captains for PKing, Captains for events, and Captains for keeping the clan active and in a good state (such as handling situations and conflicts). There could also be others (please reply with ideas, if this poll has a majority "yes" vote I will consider all suggestions for its implementation).

Anyway, that's basically the idea. Feel free to discuss this and vote for what you believe would be best.

Exactly as Draggy and Hyper said, it should give people something to strive for and prove themselves at.

Oh, and it could also help with activity, especially if there are several types of Captains

I like this idea, seems like a good step, 1, to help with conflicts (why is this always the reason for stuff we do?) and 2, i think its a good step towards preserving the clan into the future, giving the clas a base to draw new leaders from in the off event that some of our curent leadership decides to move on in life or somthing.

i'd like to hear the opinions of hte people who voted no, they voted without posting reasons. that makes it hard to understand/develop better sugestions.

Yeah, I'd also really like to hear their opinions. Nobody is going to get made fun of or flamed for their opinions, they've probably got quite legitimate concerns with the idea. Just that it's hard to improve if we don't know why people don't like a certain idea.

I voted no because..... it just doesn't work. Moderator isn't a valued position anymore, about 3/4 of the active members are one. Moderators are just made out of nearly every single active member there is, and I feel that would happen with this too, which gives it no real point.

That's a fair opinion, and I much prefer it to not seeing a post or reasons at all.

All I can say is that if Moderator isn't a valued position, maybe this is needed all the more. I don't think it's anywhere near 3/4, and I notice you've mainly only been saying this since you were made a Moderator, but I'll agree there are a fair few of us around. By having a leadership position seperate from board Moderators (which are advantageous to have lots of, to keep the boards looking preeetty) it means we can control how many leaders we have. We can make an effort to not over-populate ourselves with Captains, if that seems like the best course of action.
