Cats are sick, gross, and nasty animals.
And now we have the quote of the day, from greenl2l: PLONGED!!!

Dogs. Period.

Dogs are more affectionate, playful, warm and fuzzy, wet (licks), fun, cuuuuuute, and other things! Love the tail wag too biglaugh.gif Also, you can take em' for walks.

Kitties... Cold hard stares, don't often interact, when untrained can scratch people, hiss, etc.

Doggies all the way! puppy.gif

Dogs definatly, not just because I'm allergic to cat dander, but also because I had a cat that peed (sp?) on everything.

Cats are annoying, always making me sneeze screama.gif

I love dogs, so fun to play with, and all my old cat did (even when it was a kitten) was sit on the couch all day...

I gotta get a picture of my dog and put it on that one thread biglaugh.gif

EDIT: Also my dog does not drool, sometimes she can get annoying with all the barking, but I guess barking at a robber would better than nothing TheSmile.gif

And my dog is very cute, I've seen some cats that are verrry ugly bluetongue.gif

I have a cat, a dog, and a bird.. They all have their good qualities, but I'd have to go with dogs, since I almost won't go anywhere without mine puppy.gif bluetongue.gif

My grandmas cat came up to me, rubbed my arm, and then for no reason just bit me. My dogs would NEVER bite me. Theya have before, and learned there lessons the first time.

You dog people just don't get cats. (And I must admit, before someone else points it out bluetongue.gif , I don't understand the fascination so many people have for dogs.)

Hyper has a point about untrained cats, but I could make the same point for untrained dogs (of which there are way too many in my neighborhood; so many people get pets without considering the required commitment Whatever_anim.gif sad.gif )

I don't enjoy being nearly beaten to death by a dog's tail and I have long been tired of cleaning up things the dog has knocked over with that tail. (Not much fun playing with that tail either. Cat's tails get a mind of their own and it's pretty funny to watch.)

Dogs demand too much attention, they always want to be fussed over and it drives me crazy when a dog sits and stares at me.

Playful in dogs (at least the ones I've known) usually involves getting slobber all over some item, which one is then obligated to touch in order to throw it (again). At least cats are cute when they pounce on something or bat it around the room (unless it has a bell in it. Whoever thought cat toys with bells were a good idea must have been a dog lover.). (Cat slobber is also pretty gross, but it's rare.)

A large dog definitely produces more heat than a little cat. But a cat doesn't take up the entire bed on a (very rare) cold winter night (or any night, for that matter) and doesn't make you too hot in the (very, very long) summer.

Cute is too subjective to argue, but cats are cuter than dogs anyway bluetongue.gif . The floppy ears (for those that have that type) don't help a dogs image any.

The cat brought you the bird because he loves you, Cspace. It was a present bluetongue.gif . (Well, assuming it was your cat anyway). Fortunately my cats have trouble just catching the anoles in the yard.

I'm sure there are some mustelid lovers somewhere, Ferret. I like ferrets ok.

Cute is far too subjective, and I can see both arguments. I have a large golden retriever, yet she still produces nearly no drool. She barks occasionally at the dogs next door, but that only started happening recently and she doesn't bark the rest of the time.
Golden Retrievers are one of the brighter breeds of dogs, they're extremely similar in intelligence and temperament to Labradors (which are usd as Guide Dogs, which ask a lot of the dogs). They're well known as being one of the most good-natured dogs, I've never met one that wasn't friendly... and I've met a lot of them.
While other animals can be trained, in 90% of cases it's much easier to train a dog to do a trick than a cat. This isn't that they're smarter, just that cats are more independent while dogs are more eager to please.

Two of my close friends have cats, and I used to own cats when I was younger. They're great animals and great pets, but they just can't match up to dogs in my opinion. And they too have their funny little habits, my cute widdle Becky does some pretty amusing things sometimes bluetongue.gif .

Lol, it was a cat that kept showing up in my front yard every afternoon for some reason. I fed it a Cheese Curl and the next day there was a dead bird on my doorstep. bluetongue.gif
