Who are our Generals anyway? Of the 5 I know of, only Superchao knows anything about PKing.. That's not a good thing..
A General is an honorary term. We never war, and if we did, as I said before, our Generals wouldn't know beans about leading us in (with the exception of Superchao). So, there is no way General could be based on ability to lead and kill..

Base, Superchao, Stuffy, Star Jedi and OM are the Elite Generals to my knowledge (sorry if I left anyone out). Can't remember all the Generals off the top of my head, but the latest update was Draggy, Ryl, Phieta and me.
You still seem to be assuming that General is a rank that only comes into things during wartime. Generals are able to lead the clan in almost any way, I think they can do pretty much anything but actually declare war. Naturally they ask permission from Cspace for any large changes, though. Generals are also useful for keeping the peace during any of the conflicts we've become well acquainted with. The most important attributes for Generals then are for them to keep a clear head, not jump into things without considering both sides, etc. There is more to leading than just killing people in the wildy, or we'd just be a pking clan...

I'm enthusiastic to get it started, but Cspace has a lot of stuff on his mind and has most likely forgotten about it. Plus this is a fairly major change, a vote would probably have to be run before things could be decided one way or the other. I'd be more than happy to help finalise the idea, discuss it, iron out any problems, help pick candidates, etc.
I think I already mentioned this, but the best way I can think of to do this is a private forum for Generals and up, so they can suggest people for Captainship and Generalship. Kind of like what has been going on with mods recently, which has proven to be a productive way to find new leaders.
So I'll go PM Cspace now, see if we can speed up the process a little, maybe get a vote up within a day or two.

It's more like an intermediate between member and General. Moderator is a webmaster-like position, was never supposed to be a leadership role. Captain will be more like what Moderator has become, a lower-level leadership position.
So it's a clan position. Still, the forums are clan-based as much as we are in-game, so I guess it'd be based in the forums and the game.

yeah, it sounds like a great idea with the specialization. if im understanding this right, then the captains will be for general day-to-day stuff, with the mods helping out for bigger things (they have enough stuff to deal with anyways).
and it might be an idea to have some specifically for runescape, some for the forums only, and a few for both. that way people who either do or dont play runescape wont be disadvantaged at all.

Feed the plushie!
(Rayquaza plushie? WTF? It doesn't look anything like the other plushies!)
Through our bleeding we are one.

Not quite, Darky. Technically all Mods should mean is that they can moderate the forums, editting and moving and so forth. It was never meant to be a leadership position, just keeping the forums clean. Captains and Generals will be kind of like Mods and Super Mods are now, being able to lead people. Mods and Smods are simply there to move topics, close things that need closing, etc.
