The first of the group of polls. Please rate the mod team as a whole in terms of its performance. Please also reply with concerns if you have any.

Please do not mention names or make references to specific members. Please also be fair in your vote, don't vote in a manner to purposely offset the outcome (for example, don't vote "1" to get one minor aspect to change).

I voted 8, because it's not perfect, but it's getting there thumb.gif

I, too, voted 8. Though, being a moderator myself, my views may be a bit biased or perverted, I still believe in what I think.

What I think is that while many to most of our moderators now know how to wield their power in a responsible manner, and a helping way while lending a helping hand to those who don't know, there are still a fair few who could do with a bit of improvement. No one's drastically incompetent, no one that I know uses their moderator powers like a chainsaw, but there are just a few that could use a snip of improvement.

'Tis about it. bluetongue.gif

9.

I don't expect perfection from the mod team, that'd be a bit unfair on them. I do expect them to use their best judgement in situations though, which is what I've been seeing. And I haven't seen any/many instances of Mods using their powers in conflicts for personal reasons recently, which is good to see.

Seven.

A few things have gone haywire in the past, and the efforts and ideas to fix them haven't worked all that well. I hope for a brighter future.

EDIT: I think I'll reduce that to a 5. I just realized that its our mods that act up/leave most and get the most suspensions. Weird.

Since it's the whole team, I put 5. Most mods are great but I just don't agree with the way they handle things. It's my own thing so don't worry about it.

As a whole? I'd give us a 7.

Most of us are doing our jobs; we know what to do and set a good example most of the time. We have our faults, and I won't deny that, but overall I'd say we're pretty high up there.

The reason I'd lower it from, say, an 8 or a 9 to a 7 is because of a few mods in particular. I won't name names, and I'll leave Cspizzle to be their judge, but I personally think these few should not have mod rights. These are the ones who have a record of abusing their powers for their own good, get into the flame wars and generally set a bad example. I'm not saying they're like this all the time, but I am saying they're like this more often than others.
Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

3. As a whole, the mod team leaves the most, has the most conflicts, moves and unmoves the wrong things, and gets away with everything....

Lol, man. Do you want to be here? This is judging by your poll examples.

I think you rated to harshly in this one, but most of what you said is right on a slightly lighter scale.

I gave us an 8. grnwink.gif Moderating isn't really a big deal as it sounds to everyone. It's just so that the forums are maintained and nothing gets out of hand. 1poke.gif Anyways, the reason wh I said 8 is because sometimes members are made moderators when they're not really ready for the job. It's not a big deal or anything, but some people do make a big deal and the position is brought to a point where it should be. Like a "position of power" or something.

Anyways, mods have been doing great, and to all the members who haven't become mods: Don't go for the position if you know you're not ready. Most of the time you are, but please just wait it out until you know you're ready. It's not like people are going to not like you or stop liking you because you aren't becoming a mod. bluetongue.gif
