Bigrat: First, you sign up for an account (I believe you just give them your email address and make a password). Then, download the program. Install it and enter your account info. From there, you can just ignore it bluetongue.gif

As for what it does... it connects to the internet and downloads a "data unit" to process. Whenever your computer is idle, the program will work on the data unit in the background. When it's finished, the completed unit gets sent back to SETI, and a new one is downloaded.

It can be set to run in the background constantly, or just as a screensaver (I have mine on screensaver mode, but of course my computer's on while I'm at school or sleeping...)

what is seti? im running the thing on my comp now and i have no idea what its doing lol

As I said, the page is stuck... it says that if it gets stuck, Cspace needs to log in so it'll update again.

The latest unit (from us) was NOT uploaded in July, it was uploaded by me last night bluetongue.gif

I've been running it for a long time....I have about 1500 units and 8000 hours done in it.....I just can't join the group right now though
