Many know that a while back (probably beginning of this year) leave threads became against the rules in the Newcomer Board. Many wondered why and did not agree with it, so it became allowed in other forums where appropriate. All the way back then my reasoning for trying to limit these posts was because of the possibility of a group leaving and how they can be taken wrongly and even in some circumstances abused. It can randomly happen in any clan in any circumstances. If there is any constant in a group or community, it is that members would come and go, but leave topics are always put center-stage and interpreted here for some reason.

It is exactly this situation that was the basis for my attempt at limiting these threads. It is not to prevent members from knowing that members are gone, it is to prevent the false interpretations and, in the case of a group of friends moving away from SeeD, to prevent the devastation on the atmosphere over false reasons. Here is why I think that:

1) Everyone who initially left (those friends who joined a PKing clan) stated that they are staying in the community on the terms of considering themselves members of CurvedSpace. So they aren't really gone, they just won't consider themselves SeeDs.

2) One following that left because he/she wanted to make a point. He even said that he may come back if we improve, so it seems like possibly just a temporary leave.

3) A couple then left because of the impression that everyone's leaving, when infact many of those mentioned said that they would still be in the community so they aren't really gone. So those couple members are unfortunately leaving over blown up reasons.

... So who is really gone? A few members, not as many as many are suggesting. This is not a "downfall", regardless of what clan, groups of members can leave at one time... I'm surprised that we have gone so long without something like that. One of the driving forces behind a clan is friends, and they often tend to do things collectively.

Just because a few wished to try out a PKing clan doesn't mean that it is a "sign of things to come". I wish some would stop thinking that and reacting harshly as a result.

******************************************************

Now that we can see the result of these threads, regardless of intentions or the truth behind the actions only a negative result can come from it.

So from now on (at least until they can be taken properly), leave threads are not allowed. One can leave SeeD, but officially leaving the site itself is a bit unnecessary because activity isn't required. If one wishes to leave SeeD, he/she needs to contact a Garden Organizer to remove the individual from the list. The one leaving can send PMs if he/she would like, but we don't need these actions to be taken the wrong way.

The situation is different than many are claiming and it is a result of the apparent number of these situations because each posted his/her own thread... And even when many said "Resignation", they said that they would still be here.

So please, I am asking that members look at what is really happening and not use the situation falsely to damage the clan (and believe me, the false interpretations will damage it). It is a simple thing not to just jump the gun and completely destroy the atmosphere collectively due to how things appear immediately when you glance at them. I just ask that members please think about what they say, we are in better shape than many are willing to admit and some, sorry to say it, just want attention.

Intentional Double Post: All except two leaving threads have been deleted. If necessary for some reason I can recover some, but they have gone downhill and done some damage so this probably will not happen.

I agree that this is a needed rule.. All that these leaving topics have been doing is downing our spirits and making more leave along with their friends, when the first resignation post was just saying that he was 'leaving' but he wouldn't be leaving the community. The clan some were going to had a 1 clan only rule, which was why they had to leave the clan. No, They are not gone for good, they even stated they would still hang around and post. Which is what I like about SeeD, is that you don't have to be 100% active on RS; it's a gaming community called CurvedSpace.

Leaving topics contribute nothing, they never have. All I've seen coming from them is negativity and flaming, the lowering of the member's spirits, and some thinking SeeD is on a downfall because of the entire scenario. Others are taking the leaving of these members as a huge conflict and are making it out to be that way. In reality, maybe 2-3 members are leaving the site; the others are not 'SeeDs' but Curvedspacians. I have suspicions that some of the few members that left will come back someday, which is also fine.

I also have a nice announcement to make TheSmile.gif To all the SeeDs I PMed about organizer positions, you are all now official Garden Organizers. I haven't gotten around to PMing you all yet about exactly how to run the Gardens (I will as soon as I can), but I do have an official list for those who need to contact one! For those who don't know about the manager, the link is Here, and Phieta and I have been running it for a while. We now have plenty of help, here's a list of the current active organizers:

Star Jedi
Phieta
Leftyy
Hyperfried
Dragonman565
Ratzaroony
Kaiser Mike (M Ximum Powa)
Obiwan22

One final thing: Let's get back to our regular SeeDish selves.. That's a lot easier than thinking about how to counter the next statement someone makes. That isn't going to get anywhere, neither is leaving trying to hurt SeeD in general. And as this next emoticon says, Just smile and have fun!

If you're upset with A SeeD(s) or the clan itself, please don't make a leaving thread. Based on what has happened before, there's a 95% chance you'll be staying anyways. These threads just start worry, fighting, and mmooh.gif. We just need to keep these leaving threads down to the ones that are actually true and not posted out of anger, despression, etc.. Like if you're joining another clan or just simply can no longer visit CurvedSpace anymore.

If you just want to leave because you, erm, just want to, that's fine, but make sure you have some good reasons before you announce your leaving, because you'll either end up staying, or SeeDs will be jumping on you for a reason. bluetongue.gif

Could we keep temporary leaving posts though? Like if someone is going on vacation or something. It's weird when someone, erm disappears. ghost.gif
