Personally I put the kind of thing Traver said on the same level as flaming, no higher or lower. It wasn't a death-threat as such, but... meh, whatever.
Regardless of the situation, I don't think it's worth anyone leaving over. I'm glad to see you reconsidered, Base.
I know that some are thinking that I made the rule to keep Base here (which is not true), I'm just addressing that for those who are wondering about it...
I knew that some would think that if I did it, but frankly he brought up a good point which was completely unmentioned throughout our list of rules. Others have then brought it up after Base, and I thought of creating a rule about it so there would not be confusion in the future. I would not let an idea go due to reputation-related reasons so it was implemented. It may be changed around a little so it's fairly balanced in everyone's opinions, but we'll see.
I will not endorce the method in which it was proposed, however. I will also say that this is a freak incident and by simply contacting me to make a change it can be much better than other more direct alternatives.
I will guarantee that the next SMod to use judgement to suspend for a greater amount of time than is written in the rules will at least temporarily lose mod rights regardless of reasons.
I'm sorry to say it, but if someone tests this it will not go in their favor. Let's hope this is the last and we don't need to worry about it though.
Sorry if you misunderstood me earlier Cspace, I was just saying that I thought others might see it that way, not that I myself believed you were changing the rules around to keep Base here.
One point of interest though is the fact that despite the rule being written after Traver was banned, he was still affected by it. I was under the impression that nobody got punished for things that happen before a rule is introduced.
Didn't Cspace just post about this? Leaving because of something being 'wrong', and just using that as a 'Look at me! Change this idea!' sort of thing?
Then you come back after it's fixed. I'm disappointed that you did this, and just pretended to leave so you would get something changed.
