And I guess you could say that Traders make the metal, but technically it is never actually "made". Just the item. Basically, instead of saying "For Damage + 4 Spend 700 EP" (or whatever it would be), it is "For This Metal To Be Used, Spend 700 EP". Makes more roleplay sense than just calculating numbers, which is why they are metals. They are not items as themselves however and cannot be produced alone.
With the next update it will be a bit more obvious that there's more to a weapon than just its metal and design.

Hold your water guys, Cspace doesn't have all the time in the world to do everything. That's why he's got it planned out for a certain time. I'm sure that you'll modded along with the DarkStorm update, Reikin.

Also, everyone should be careful with the new trading system and currency, because we don't want it going in the whole and just stop the whole thing, starting from scratch. Just give it time and don't go all out in trying to get the best items. "If you're not enough without it, you'll never be enough with it." (quote from the movie Cool Runnings, hehe

Basically, it's just making simple items like rope, nails, untensils, general tools,
but mostly the system works for helping out NPC Traders...
I'll reconfirm everything once Csp' has the whole system up.. right now all I got is a lot of speculation..
Also, people should examine hte "digsite" in Maldenar...

10 copper = 1 silver
10 silver = 1 gold
10 gold = 1 platinum
Copper is the least, platinum is the most.
But it's all up to you Cspace, you design it how you want it. As far as making other tiny things, I thin kthat'd be a good idea.....Anyone can fashion a rope, maybe not a GREAT one, but a rope none the less.

EDIT: That currency set-up is from Dungeons and Dragons...
But I think that a lot of people want to incorporated D&D stuff into the game already.
Though the currency might not be so bad..

That is a good currency, but since DarkStorm is eventually going to be an actual game, it's better to make up our own.

There will be items which players can construct, as well as improvements to items which players can apply. It will be more obvious with the next update. The Traders will keep the economy rolling, but players will make it work.
*****************************************************
I understand about drops and everything (as well as the lesser items and components), but I wish to try to get a system going which does not rely on GMs. GMs can do things and reward items for quests, but I don't wish to have them in basically complete control over what everyone obtains. I also wish to prevent the game from becoming stagnated if the GMs are busy.

Any possible updates for sorcerors in future?
And if you want to start your char over, can you keep items? Or if you change class or race, can you switch around your stat points?
Also, about what Reikin said..........
You're allowed to ask for modship now?! Sweet!

As far as "asking for modship" goes, I don't think anyone should really need to ASK

Traders are intended to feed the economy, not be used as primary characters. They also are not to improve one's primary character. Unfortunately in a situation such as this we can't have too many people making the fundamental items, otherwise everything would be flooded and everyone would be fighting each other with the same superior equipment.
The next update will include new abilities for every class.

Not sure quite yet, everyone can express what they think if they'd like.

Hehe, no worries. I don't believe that the EQ or D&D currency is copyrighted (it's pretty general, would be like copyrighting the concept of a gold coin). Regardless however, we will have our own since we have serious plans to make this into a real game.

The unified credit system (Unicred)
1 MacroCred = 13 TeraCreds
1 TeraCred = 13 MegaCreds
1 MegaCred = 13 UniCreds
1 UniCred = 13 MinorCreds
1 MinorCred = 13 MicroCreds
Or, the Tri-Conomic System (3 Different Currencies, Shifting Values)
3 Different types of money, + 1 Universal type of money..
1: Good Money (Basically used by generally good areas)
Nobellian Coins:
1 Nobellian Dreka = 10 Nobelian Coins
1 Nobellian Coin = 10 Nobellian Minitra
Shifting Trade rates:
Evil: Once a day, value change between x 1/10 and x 10
Neutral: Once a week, value change between x 1/2 and x 2
2: Neutral Money
Nagatic Coin
1 Nagatic Iona = 10 Nagatic Coins
1 Nagatic Coin = 10 Nagatic Swaits
Shifting traderates:
Both: Once a day, + or - 5
3: Evil money
Voidarik Coin
1 Voidarik Necca = 10 Voidarik Coins
1 Voidarik Coin = 10 Voidarik Undara
What you say!!!

If the exchange rates confuse you... all you have to do when converting according to an exchange rate is multiply by the number displayed.
If the numerical values confuse you, think of it this way...
The bottom one is like a dime. 10 of them make a coin, a dollar. 10 Dollars make a 10 dollar bill.
If the first one confuses you, then just do the same as above, except that instead of 10, it's 13.
