Universal Events Time Zone GMT, preferably

I say that whenever you organize an event, you always have to put at least the GMT time in, and by all means put in any others you want (EST seems to be popular). This is because not all people in SeeD (me, for example) know how to easily convert EST into their home time zone, but I trust that we all know how many hours +/- we are from GMT (very easy for me, just switch the PM/AM to the opposite and put it 12 hours ahead).
Hope it happens.

We already have one, in all but name. Almost all events are written in EST, simply because the majority of people live in it or fairly similar to it. What would be an excellent idea is a pinned topic in Events with all the different time zones compared with EST, to make it easier on people. Oh, and somebody to update this when the time zones go into daylight savings time or whatever.

well echi lives in the UK and whatever time is in EST...just add 5 more hours and its UK time and the easy way i tell people when events are starting, i ask them what time is it there, and i subtract my time from there, (i live in EST) and i tell them what time the event is

It was by no means a bad idea CJ, just something that tends to happen already. Still, a topic with a greater variety of time zones is a good idea I think, and it will encourage event-holders to list their event in more time zones, as it wouldn't require as much effort. It probably should also have a few examples, as I've gotten confused once or twice and been an hour out (much to my horror).

Ehehehe Cam, the way I work it out is by my globe - each column represents one hour in the world. But I don't think you get that kind of thing so I just worked out from talking to random people from America and asking what time it was over there and then negated the time from NZ and then I found it all out!
Most Americans are like 17 hours behind us Cam!
Or you can just go to here

It's better to go with the time that suits most people. No matter what time zone is used, some people will still have to change. If we choose to have the 'universal events time zone' as something closer in the middle, then everybody would have to change it.
I know it's not great for us non-americans, but it's the best option.
