Who here is an rs old timer?...I mean the people that go way back on rune scape.
those who can remember way back when...Before lvl requirments for armour and weapons, back when every one was either pker or non pker(when it was a setting like run or walk and you only had 3 chances to change it). I would like all such really olllddd rs players to post here with there oldest memory on rs(exluding the two I mentioned)....there is a good reason wich select ones will be pmed about later down the line. But I wanted to kinda keep this something for just us rs old timers. post if you do with stuff like your oldest char your best 3 stats, basicaly wat ur bigest rs accomplishment is in the years you have been playing. and of course your oldest memory. Im looking for people who know all about rs. people who know what really lies in the chest in the lava maze(I do) people who know all the best stuff and quickest short cuts in the game. the reason will be made clear later through pm, im, or email(what ever you like...but only to those who qualify).

You mean way back in the day when you determine what you were, Ranger, Warrior, Miner, Mage?

Back in the day where the way to PK was to wear some bronze armor in the wild, then switch to full rune?

Back in the day when half-full wine jugs were plentiful and worth 15 gp each?

When you could give your second account full rune and they could equip it the same day?

When there were only 4 servers?

Biggest RS accomplishment: Being around for the first holiday drop AND the last. (with a few in between)

Well ive been playing for 3 and a bit years now so I can remember things being different:

Only members could see levels outside of the wildy
The website was way different
Rs opened in a different window, which was way better
Erm, when priest robes sold for 3k on f2p because only members could buy them in stores, yet they could be used on f2p.
RS used to have a worse quality graphics and game engine
The report abuse button didnt exist so you had to use customer support.
There wasnt a tutorial isle
When creating a char you selected Adventurer,Warrior,Mage,Ranger or Miner (Cant remember if ranger and warrior were there) and it gave you a few free levels in that stat (I was mage )
They released for a short time a test of rs classic (I have no idea what for) and everyone had to make a new char (if the wanted to play on that server) so everyone was a newbie

Oh and the stuff you asked:
Accomplishment: Getting a full mask set
Highest skill: cooking 53/54 something like that, Ive played regulary for 3 years and I havnt got a skill at 60 or higher. Its because I NEVER train skills unless I have to, I ocus on quests and doing fun stuff like rping.

I recall buying blurite ore to complete the Knights Sword quest, as well as there being rune items released. I remember when there was only 3 worlds, and when dragon slayer was released. My favourite memory has to be me screaming at the top of my lungs when I found 2k on the ground in varrok sewers.

Oldest memory is probably when they introduced herblore.
Best memory is someone talking trash at jogres about how rich they were, only to, minutes later hit a lag spike and drop 500k cash, mask set and some other goodies for me.

Ah, I don't really go back THAT far. but I joined back when they still had classes! Yeah, everything was cheap back then...Now everything is...well, blah!...My best memory was meeting Mike in Varrock Mines. When we were SOOO board that I blurted out, "I am cornholio! I need some teepee for my bunghole!" and in reply he answered, "Hehehe.....BUNGHOLE!" XD I laughed myself furless that night....We became best buds all because of Beavis and butthead...ROCK ON BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD!

oh GAWRSH, it was back in 99-00 for me. But that was when i was in t3h fifth grade, so I didn't really pay attention. I remember dying several times, and every time I did, i made a new character. Finally I stuck with Mase Windu, and I got to level 8. Then i stopped playing for a while...

Then, a few months after sproogle and I met, I told him about it, and we both started being FREAKS about it.

Yeah, the webbie was different, when the letters to gods were a little less common, when drag slayer was released...

My most vivid memory of it though, is when you made your character, you did the whole look thing, and you chose the "adventurer, mage, blah blah blah..." Stuff like that.

Back when the blackest robe was grey...

Back when I logged in the day after christmas, and was n00bish enough to follow some rumor and go to ice mountain in search of santa to get one of those stylin' hats.

Back when I tried to buy one of said stylin' hats for 2k (an ENORMOUS amount for a n00b).

Back when I was sooo excited when I had enough money to buy goblin mail from the general store in lumby, only to find that my hard-earned 54gp bought me something you couldn't equip...

Wow, that one REALLY made me feel stupid.

The time i made it to level 20 wildy by accident.

My earliest memories are foggy.. because I was a lost and confused newbie at the time...

I was there before requirements.. before magic.. stuff like that.
I remember a lot of people buying Iron.. and some guy who was trying to sell the bones of th epeople he killed..

It must have been pretty early, people were killing eachother in Lumbridge.

And I remember when I made XZ.. Miner!
And thusly, my mining skill is level 66/67 today.

My best accomplishment.. the day I gained liek 50 skill points in one day (I played 24 hours straight, when I was newbish)

Wow, I had been somewhere around perhaps eight years old... Yep, them goblins and men used to KILL! There was also monotonous side-to-side combat. Kind of strange... Although the modern game seems much stranger if you take a good peek.

I can't really remember any good thoughts... Perhaps it was when I had made at least 100 gp from selling the bronze dagger spawn in the Lumbridge castle. I was proud of myself

Well I was pre-dragonslayer, but magic, the wilderness and multiple servers were already introduced by that stage (I think I joined right after the fourth was added). After choosing your class and appearance you were dumped right in lumby, so it was far more noobish than it is now. Levels were not visible, there was black armour but no weapons, capes were not dyable (the day that was introduced still sticks in my memory as one of the worst scamming days ever, capes were going for hundreds of thousands merely for their colour, purple was the most highly prised), the black hole experience and half wines were still in the game, etc.

I could probably think of some more stuff, but I'm a little low on time right now.

Oh, levels... My levels aren't too impressive, as I don't tend to play much as of late.

72 attack, 70 hits, 69 strength and defence, 66 mining, 65 fishing, etc.

My first memory of runescape that i can clearly recollect is getting a white party hat on january first 2001 and giving it away, not knowing that three (almost four) years later i would be longing to have it back. i started somewhere in october of 2000, and i would say i graduated from newb college around the time that rune came out in spring of 2001. there is yet another memory i have, of rune not existing period.


EDIT: oh and btw, i've had the same character ever since i started and i havent leveled him in over two years. his highest stats are 70 mining, 70 strength, and 61 firemaking with 77 combat on rs2 and 74 on rs1.
