does any one remember that novelty that used to be in the dwarven mines? the one where you could go to "where we send our worse criminals" (to quote the dwarve who used to watch over that pit). it was nothingness. just darkness, all you could see was your self...this is the same place that apears breifly on the map when it loads(when the veil is lifted breifly). the only way you could come back from it was with your "disk of returning". jagex took that out after a while. However it was rumored that some people some how lost there disks of returning and got stuck(the suposed reason for jagex discontinuing that feature)...this place is the rs ether(or otherworld/hell ). it is that same darkness you see all around the borders of a room when your in the upstairs of a building, or in a ship. the dwarve used to say that it is where rs sends its worste criminals...are not those scammers? or autominers?. hmmm...and what about that one char "outer spacer". he used to apear in the upstairs of the varrck museum during drop parties, exept that he was just on the out side of the wall in the ether, he talked to people too. but he couldnt trade with them, and he couldnt get out. I met him once and according to him he bacame stuck after a game glitch was fixed. he said that there are in other places hidden entrances to the ether that were never fixed so even though he can only go so far from his spot(10 steps or so it seemed), others if they found them could enter and exit the ether(entering one place and going out another once taking more then a few steps into it)...he belived that teliporting worked along with this some how and he said that before his char got stuck in that spot when the glitch was fixed(after being reported there) he had found 1 or two others... another person I had talked to said that they were around during the time of the glitch and that though jagex fixed all that were reported some went unreported, leaving about one in every big city(this was when there was still just free play). since p2p and new rs came out all this may have been fixed or just done over so they may no longer exist exept for on rs classic(maybe). and what about "otherworldy beings". I mean there must be an entrance to th rs ether some where I am going to actively start searching for it after I take care of some things I have planned to do. personaly I think one place it may lie in is in the varrock sewers .those ghosts dont seem to respawn so much as come out of that wall(I think there is an entrance somewhere around there as it is one of the closest areas to the varrcok museum of such emence black space and since not many ever kill enough ghosts to get enough leisure time to check the walls there--and have prolly never thought to do so any ways)...wat does every one think of this?

This so-called 'Ether' was actually called the Black Hole Experience. It WAS for hackers and scammers, it was an alternative to banning characters. They didn't get rid of it because people got stuck there, though. They removed it because people were intentionally rulebreaking to get sent there, it was sort of a status thing. Those that did get sent there became mildly famous, and that wasn't Jagex's intent.

Feel free to look around, but you won't find an entrance. The BHE no longer exists, and most of the bugs in the game have been fixed by the massive amount of people that have walked through each area. There were a few bugs like that during the Rs2 Beta, including one upstairs of the White Knights Castle that let you fly around Falador.

Hope I've been able to shed some light on the subject, generally the only people that ever took the Experience were newbies, nobody else cared about it until it was taken out.

As for it showing up on the map, that's incredibly hard to prove or disprove. Considering the Black Hole was merely a black area with no features in which you couldn't move (much like a few places in RSC when you logged onto a free server in a members area, and it was just totally black). The black of an unloaded map isn't going to look much different to the black of not having anything there, as they're both identical colours. Beyond that I don't think there is much of a similarity, although I suppose the programming could conceivably be a bit the same.

When you logged onto free server from members it would be water it was pretty kool cept you would be stuck there till you logged out and went into a members world did that for fun a bit...and if you find a door I would check the fairy place....They seem to know about other worlds....Seeing as they are in one

If the map is unloaded, then for that few seconds that nothing is loaded for the area your trying to use is that not nothing ness? grnwink.gif hehe...and has any one ever met "Outer spacer"? he is (or at least was) a real guy who was stuck out there in the ether(btw thats jus' wat' I like to call it). I saw him once after I first met him. He was teasing people at a drop party by droping his inventory of rune stuff and picking it back up(one girl was really ticked cuase she could not teli grab it lol).

I guess on the somewhat serious side of what I was saying. I might have been trying to make a point(but im not sure, cuase' like I said, I was verrryyy sleep deprived), that there are alot of mysterious happenings in rs that can not be easily explained. I think it is kind of kewl, as it adds a more real life feel to the game. And you never know if you will find a glitch that will lead you to some kewl secret place or to oblivion. I guess I was just attempting to put a human face on the game. like they tell you on tutorial island, the other players are real people with real feelings. Runescape its self is like a nether world in a way. as people from all over use a device that links them to a place that has no real location on a world map, but exists none the less...where strange happenings occur daily and mystic creatures dwell. and I think people need that. I think people need to be someone else once in a while...to escape to another world where they are rich or powerfull, a valliant warrior or a strong mage, a master of archery or an expert with the sword...people need it to um, get what they can not get out of there daily lives.

Heh, I agree that it can be fun to make up theories like that, can make the game a more interesting place than otherwise.

Just did some research for you. My hacker friends always come through -with- me. Yes, a number of them have gone there to that place refferred as "Hell" on Runescape. However, I would not call it a hell. Hell is a place for terrorists in the minds of the catholics. I may be catholic, but my mind is still full of doubt that this is a heaven or hell. More so, just a place where souls roam free on the earth, undetected as some people claim "ghosts".

Two things for you... 1) Learn to write in paragraphs, please. 2) Don't beg me to try and get in.

That area is protected by a banner (not a literal banner) Saying it does not exist. however, my pals say it does, though you can't get in without serious crunching down on it. He said if possible, he could get all his friends together (hackers...counting me) And we'd be done getting through the first banner by 3 days. aproximately half a week.

He didn't say how many banners there are though, I don't think many got through the first.

Thats the kind of thing I used to do in rs2 finding lingering fragments of the past (I found part of the wall that was around the original POH) Finding wierd stuff like tree stumps that wernt coded to grow back until a system update (which by the way is similar to rsc doors once you open them they stay open until you either close them or theres a system update, shut is their natural state), trying to find the mod room was my biggest goal and the best I could do was find a corner of a basment in the distance from the dwarven mines (checking on maps there are no gray floored basments around in this area)

Heh perhaps thats why my levels so low for a 3yr old

So, Gotenksjr3, ur' sayin' that the place actualy does exist and is just off limits?
and um...I was just sayin' that looking for an entrance to something like that when I have some spare time might be a fun thing to do(what I meant by that is just walking around rs poking at walls). In other words I would not ask you to get me in any where, becuase im just talking about something to do when im bored, and I do not like to ask people to put them selves out to further my own goals. I would be interested to hear anything more that you learn of on the subject though. It intrests me that there is another side to runescape that is rarely seen by the average player...

Sorry that I am not that good with paragraphing...looking at it now I do see what you mean(I think). I can see how it would be hard to read what I write as I tend to have bad punctuation(and spelling, and sentance forming skills), but I am a hunt-n'-peck typist...I will try to break what im saying into smaller sections from now on. and thank you for bringing that to my attention.
