Well, today's my big day. Wish me luck... Oh, right, I haven't told you what it is yet bluetongue.gif Today is my first ever piano recital, after five years of piano lessons (still going). I'm going with something like seven or eight other kids, but I'm last, which pretty much means I'm the finale. biglaugh.gif I'm playing (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, by Brian Adams first. I'll follow that with You'll Be In My Heart by Phil Collins (From Tarzan). Should be a great show, I'll be leaving around 2:15-2:30EST. This should be fuuuun!

Nice. I play piano too, I think I've been going for 4-5 years too. Except we do piano recitals bi-monthly, and then yearly ones at the regional level, which goes to state, which goes to national. Its pretty fun, but for the regional level, I have to practice for these 15-20 pagers for about half a year to get it memorized. You have to use so much force and actually body power, its almost as if you have to go to the local gym to practice for the piece instead of a piano.

I've gotten to state before, but stopped there. Its tough.

Okay, here goes. There were 11 people, including myself, and all were younger than me, ironically bluetongue.gif (Except for one) All played the piano, some at lower levels and some higher, except for that one older person who did some nice drumming. Everyone was... pretty good, despite some mistakes and everything. I went through my two pieces pretty dang well, or so said everyone. A lot of people said I was the best one there biglaugh.gif

As well as my virtually flawless performance, at a little reception afterwards, I gave my teacher a card with a writing piece on it pretty much proclaiming how great he was. Apparently, I touched him so much, he shed a tear or two. icon_sweatdrop.gif Really makes me feel good that I could do that to someone. Actually, his brother (a rabbi) was there. He read the card, and jokingly said that I could write one of his sermons any day. After the thing, we went to a local restaurant, where I had a very enjoyable dish, not to mention meeting up with a friend.

All in all, it was a great day, and a wondrous recital. TheSmile.gif
