Well on RuneScape during the summer holidays (in the middle of august) i think i was like level 40 combat with 600 skill total.. then suddenly my friend Steph (eqlius) leveled her skill total high and her combat, and i always wanted to try and beat her.. so i just worked at it knowing i could maybe level higher than her.. and it worked, im now higher in combat and skill total..

Then me and my school friend both want 96 combat and hes turned it into a race, knowing i could win the race it makes me want to work harder.

My Point: Does competition and wanting to try to best someone make one work harder?

Yep, I was motivated to try and keep my position in the RS rankings before I.. took a break..

Yes, it helps a lot, unless one person is way high to start or gets on a lot more.
