Thats a good idea for new members. But only those who havent played RS before. If they've played before and just make a new character, they basically already know how to make money and get the things they need. But for truly new people, we could help to support them in getting started. Let me know if I can help.

there is an explanation to this madness!
first of all, a donation is based on the people who receive it, not the ones who give it - so even if you're dying to give away that full rune set, it might not be appropriate: for example, i was tempted to say im a newcomer (which im not =P) by the thought of a rune piece of armor... new people dont need stuff like that, they need something simple, like steel or even mithril. by the time they get to that level 40 defense to wear it, they'll be far from newbies - get what i mean? then you'll have a bunch of mid level people like me (in their 30s 40s 50s) saying IM A NOOB IM A NOOB FULL RUNE PLZ!!!!!111 (well not exactly like that)
i dunno, but thats just my two cents feel free to flame me privately if you want =P

Yes...Well...I'm a member, and even in members world it's not hard to find a level 51 following you, proding you and screaming into your large and sensitive foxie ears, "GIMME RUNE! RRRRR! DERRRHERR! MY ARMOR IS BETER THAN YOURS!" When they look at my rags...Uh...Dude...This isn't -armor- It's my clothes thank you. I sorta need them to protect my little buttocks from the cold. I sorta need them to stay decent.

But that's not the point, the point is, people will never stop being greedy...So smack em and point them in the right direction, but good point Kae...If we gave them expensive stuff, they would probably sell it for like...5gp...Or just drop it 'cause they can't use it yet. Hence, we'd have to explain things to them too...and I'm not a patient babysitter...I usually give kids something and say, "Here....Have fun...I know they're matches...Have fun." But that's just my view.
