alright. thi is what i would like. it allows for more ranks.

SeeD cadet:3-10
SeeD: 11-20
SeeD Fighter: 21-30
SeeD Warrior: 31-40
SeeD Soldier: 41-50
SeeD Veteran: 51-60
Elite Seed: 61-70
SeeD of Honor: 71-80
Legendary SeeD: 81-90
SeeD Hero: 91-100
SeeD Titan: 100+

Now. This allows for a little more pride in becoming a level. you advance more often, and graduate from cadetednesscy quicker. The Veteran is backed by ranks that would prove you are a veteran warrior. Elite is a higher level than veteran because naturally elite is made up of the higher skilled. then there are a few higher ranks... to show a little mroe gratitude to or great warriors.

I like this- it tells more about you're combat. The current system has very high intervals, that's the problem. This would tell people a lot more.

When the new member list is available, more ranks will be possible. It is just very difficult to update everyone constantly with the current system, but I'm sure you are going to like the update (if it ever works correctly of course, lol) grnwink.gif

Sounds pretty nice for a ranking system but I believe not only combat skill should be included but ability skills too cause some of us are merchants and don't fight but make goods and offer services for money.

yeah, ranks like seed fighter and stuff like that could be confusing for people who don't fight. I suggest that we have aa branching system that gives parrelel ranks that mean differnt things and arn't based only on combat. like if your highest non combat stat is above 20 and you choose to have a skill based rank you can be a skilled seed. if ith reaches 40 you can be come an artisan seed. then when you reach 60 (or when you enter the aproppriate guild) you become a master seed. 80 your a grand master seed, and 95+ your an arch master seed. Then you can have some ranks for people with good total skill levels. this could, be like 'jack of all trades seed' or something like that then learned seed and so forth (going for the 'well rounded' sounding ranks).

I would like to see what you think about this cspace. with the new system it looks like it would be easy to implement, just update the ranks page once to include an explanation and new ranks. this could provide a clearer picture of how good someone is. I mean, is it realy appropriate to call a lvl 99 smith that is combat lvl 3 a "seed cadet"?

Why not go one step furthur? Basing it on skill total would give people with many low, similar levels at an advantage to those with one or two high levels (1 everything, but 99 mining or something). XP, however, would work. Why not total XP (From the overall hiscore list)?

I don't think you understand what I mean phieta. I'm sorry, I diddn't explain very well. ok you choose how you want to be ranked. in other words, if you have alot of low level skills, then you could say I want a rank based on skill total. these ranks are something like 'generaly skilled' or something to that effect. if you feel like you realy have a strength in one skill you can choose to be ranked based on that skill these are things like 'master' and so forth. if you feel like your main strength is your combat you have ranks like the traditional 'coproral, privet etc.' no these ranks run parrallel, so a specific skill ranks that has reached the second tear has the same authority as some one who has reached the second tear of the skill total based ranks. This is so that the ranks express what you are good at. if you arn't a fighter you won't have a fighting name, if you arn't a generally skilled charecter but are very high in a single skill your rank will express that.

I hope this makes sense. it would be helpful to me if you posted a summary of what you think I said to see if I'm getting my message across clearer.

hmm... i was going to say guilds... but meh... i see your point. this is what we should have:

Fighting Rank
Skill total Rank
Prefered Skill Rank:

We use my two suggested skill ranks (first two) and the new one:

Novice:1-10
Adept:11-20
Apprentice:21-30
Journeyman: 31-45
Master: 46-55
Grandmaster:56-70
Headmaster: 71-85
Headgrandmaster:86+

Happy now? TheSmile.gif
