I have a question for yall


Whats the point of a Graphics Card? What does it do? and do you really need one for your comp?

It depends on what you want to do with your computer. Mainly some programs (mainly games) need 'extra help' when it comes to displaying graphics on the computer screen.

... I think someone else can explain this better than I can. I'll move this to the Technical forum.

Yes, you need a graphics card.
is how you have a "picture". Without a graphics card, your computer cant output any info to your monitor. it is a VERY vital part of a computer.

Jarik is correct. Without any graphics card the computer cannot communicate with the monitor to display the information, therefore rendering your computer useless.

Most definately, especially if you're going to use the computer for gaming. An example being that I couldn't get NHL 2005 or Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 to work because of not enough video memory. icon_sweatdrop.gif Stupid unupgradable 18MB...
