We've received a reply from Canaca.com, who is www.rscheats.com's current webhost. They seem to feel that the site can stay operational unless it violates "government law".
This was their reply:
"Dear Valued Customer,
Unless they are breaking any government laws, they are within their rights. If they do break any laws their account will be terminated. Please let us know if there is anything else.
Best Regards, Technical Support."
We're trying to get them to take another look. Visit http://www.runescape...opic.php?t=1761 for more info if you want to help.
Let's get this site taken down.

If you read their Terms of Service, it should become obvious that the site is in violation.

How are they breaking any government laws?
There must be something illegal about tricking people into downloading trojans, keyloggers and that sort of thing; and then using them to hack into other peoples accounts.... well, it makes sense if thats illegal but I don't know everything about government laws

Congratulations Shadowdancer and everyone else that has sent an e-mail, or somehow been involved in finally taking RScheats down.

I e-mailed them just so you know and I sent a very long-detailed letter full of bad grammer and kinda-good spelling but hopefully they will get the point....
Like I said bad grammer and semi-good spelling so yeah. It's out there soon teh site shall be down!
(BTW: I wasn't mean or anything just listed what COULD happen and if someone indeed take legal action and/or won - even if their own ToS said they wern't responsible for the content the courts could still say something but anyway they will most likely just disagree but still I said something!

I am not related to Jagex and/or RuneScape other then that I play it.
Hello and thank you for reading this e-mail, I am writing about a site
called rschats.com and is being hosted by you; this site is breaking
many ToS for the game RuneScape ( http://www.runescape.com ) and the
problem with this is that all players are responsible for read and/or
following the ToS of this game RuneScape. By providing the things
they do, Rscheats is breaking this ToS of RuneScape, which inturn is
also a violation of US and Federal Law which is agreed by most
nations. As the ToS must be agreed and followed to use the services,
which Jagex (the owner(s) of RS) makes all players sign, which means
the site is against the law. The other issue is downloading these
programs could result in getting a virus and/or trojan to your
computer, which is very bad as I am sure you know, so of course we
wouldn't want that. And if a computer did get affected, by a virus
etc, you being the host of this site could in fact get in trouble
yourself by the current law standards if such people decided to take
legal action and indeed win.
Now the following rules, of RuneScape should help, so here you go:
Rule 2.
You must not scam or deceive other players.
Lying to other players for your own personal gain is not in the spirit
of the game.
Rule 3.
Asking/trying to persuade another player to give you their password
for any reason is against the rules and will not be tolerated.
Rule 12.
RuneScape items must only be exchanged for other items/services within the game.
Exchanging RuneScape items for items or other benefits in other online
games, real-life money or other real-life benefits is not allowed.
I am sure you can see how the site is going against these rules, the
site has been reported for scamming previously and has asked for the
password of such accounts previously, and has of course asked to be
paid real money for an in-game service which is in fact against the
ToS and Rules of such said game.
I would also like to mention how people work very hard to get levels,
when these programs allow people to get levels very fast, and it isn't
even them working for it. The person could leave the computer and
still gain levels, because of some bot program, which isn't even them
to begin with. Now yes there are such things as gamesharks for
platforms, such as PS2 etc, but the codes are normally provided by the
companies themselves. Now some are bugs, this is true, but most are
normally implanted by the author(s) themselves. Jagex had/has no
intention of these kind of programs being used for their game, so
therefore, it shouldn't be used at all.
I thank you for reading this e-mail, no matter what happens, and I
also thank you for your fine hosting of different outstanding sites.
I hope you can continue provide outstanding service for good community
sites but please I ask you to look more into rscheats.com and take
into consideration of what I have said.
