It seems to me that SeeD is slowly dying. I mean after all, our attempts to stop hackers, and of course special operations have been almost cartoonish. "Intercepting" messages sent via pm is impossible without serious rule breaking. We have defeated the rebels. What's next? All we can do is help out other people, stockpile resources and try to keep the forums alive. Veteran members of runescape seem to have lost interest in it. The people in runescape are ALOT meaner then when I started out. There are vast amounts of information in these forums and in the web about runescape. In short I think people have lost interest in runescape, lost interest in SeeD (not me though) and have run out of questions to ask on the boards. Well that's my two cents.

Bye for now,
Megan 189

SeeD people consist of people who play many other games, SeeD never really was a clan and it was never really just runescape based.

Lol, I really don't think the downfall of runescape (if that happens) will ever be our downfall bluetongue.gif When you try to stop the whole gang of hackers/scammers/cheaters out there, it is almost an impossible task. Though, when a SeeD ever comes across a scammer throughout runescape, it is our priority to do what we can to stop their attempt (Our Emblem system is a creative way to go about it, hehe). No, we cannot permanently stop them, but there is a difference in trying and not trying. 'Twas what the legion of Aderon was created for; to unite other clans to try to limit, if we can't totally stop, the scamming that goes around.

We are a clan based in several different games, so even if someone loses interest in Runescape, they could join another faction here or create their own in the game they like. Or they could get hooked on the arcade, hehe, it's there for when you're tired of chatting and are totally bored... Hey, even if someone loses interest in every game out there, there are still the random forums that don’t revolve around games to chat in loopy.gif

Eh, about the common runescape player getting troublesome... Runescape has grown a lot, and so have the players. I guess it's just a thing of rising in combat/skill total and believing you are more superior than others. It happens about everywhere.

But no worries, hehe, everyone here can lose interest in Runescape and head towards another game. And you won't find too many stuck up players in SeeD like the ones you find in Runescape, I guess that's just the way we are thumb.gif

I like SeeD. I don't like Runescape, and thats what attracted me to this clan. Now I am active in other things such as the Diablo 2, and Yahoo Games factions in SeeD. I agree with Hippie, SeeD will eventually die out, just not now, and hopefully not for a long time.

SeeD never really was a clan and it was never really just runescape based.

Well, you're speaking for what you're familiar with, we were only a RS-based clan (and RS-only) for almost two years. The whole reason for expansion was because of the change in the game as well as its effect on who is willing to stay. RS is not going to die anytime soon, but it is getting to the point of teetering on a rope if it keeps going in a certain direction. Instead of being at the mercy of the game's appeal, we are spreading so no matter what happens to RS SeeD can still go on. icon_sweatdrop.gif

*******************************************************

Back about a year and a half ago we began to see this decline in the RS community. It resulted in a number of things, and really that is what created our anti-rulebreaker atmosphere. Before then we were pretty normal, but due to our size (and at that time promotion from members, which was destroyed in a way during 2004) we figured that if anyone could stop that decline it would be us, for we doubted the ability of a PKing clan (almost all other "massive" clans were PKing clans) to bring about this positive change in the atmosphere. Nothing against PKing clans, but they rarely provide a benign atmosphere to the game.

The Legion of Aderon and our other efforts were almost always undermined by other clans because no one thought that a positive change could be made. If any change was made it would be made by a majority of players, while we were really just trying to be a catalyst to bring about this progress other clans commonly thought it was "SeeD trying to save the world". So few tried to assist with the cause, though the few who did probably impacted many players in some way... It just wasn't enough.

I'm sorry to say it, but it was common arrogance, elitism, and short-sightedness which brought this change to RS. Few understand that it is best to fix the roof when the sun is shining, and now I'm afraid that this is obvious now. We tried and the cause didn't catch on, no one took it seriously... All is not lost, but I'm afraid that before any positive change is made in the game the players will have to change their goals.

I guess we have to face it, RS is becoming a PKer's game. Not that there is anything wrong with it... but the old game is pretty much lost I'm afraid. That is the biggest magnet away from SeeD. While we aren't against PKing (and if there are members who love PKing, they can schedule all the PKing events they want and recruit as many high levels as they think would be needed)... We don't have the elitist atmosphere which goes with many of the PKing clans. Those who desire this and feel a need to be in a clan such as that to be a powerful character seem to be leaving more than anyone.

*******************************************************

Once factions catch on though, we will be independent of the ups and downs of RS. This I am sure of... We can still fight for the old atmosphere in RS, but no matter how hard we try we will get nowhere if the players (in general) remain so resistant to change. Since the PKing clans have such a huge influence on the game now though, I'm afraid that our ability to help preserve the old atmosphere is fading away. face21.gif

Lol, the way things are going we may become one of the few large clans left without the "0wn j00 all" appeal. bluetongue.gif

Addition: Sorry for the long post... icon_sweatdrop.gif Just had to get a few things out I guess
