i have a DS and my ousin got one from Japan, DS has great control,my fav games, touch screen,Gamecube hook-up(in the future),GBA game compatible, and pretty good looks and great sound.
PSP has great sounds, great looks, but it cost alot, upgrades cost a bundle, you have to buy new games, if you bearly twist the psp the game holder thing comes out, and a bunch of ripoff games.... I'll go for the DS

Just used some of my stars and ordered one from nintendovip.com, £129 for a ds, mario 64, demos of metroid & wario ware and a t-shirt i'll never wear TheSmile.gif

I might still get a psp, depends how good the games are as I'm not too bothered about the other features

Then you shouldn't say that DS is better, and PSP is crap when you haven't played either of them. And yes, I have played d a DS.

Oh ok cause I said that the PSP was crap did I?
Anyway I just saying I think I would prefer a DS on the grounds that all the stuff I know about te DS out weighs the good things I know about the PSP. Oh and I signed up for that nintendo stars thing I signed up when I brought my tribal sp put in the code got an account got some stars never worked out how to put another code in and get more stars "sigh"

I personally am gonna get a PSP when it comes out, my brother is getting a DS on the other hand.

I played a DS in EB today, and had great fun on it. I played Mario 64 DS (too many suffixes...) and the adventure part was fun, but where the DS really shines is the mini games, and using the touch screen for the mini games.

But they are 2 totally different systems, DS is a GAMES handheld, PSP is more of a media tool because of the mp3s, movies, wifi etc.

Since I haven't played the PSP yet, I can't say which one is better, but the DS is a nice system, but stillI'm gonna buy the PSP.

To everyone who is slamming one or both of these handhelds without having actually played them, please read today's C+A+D.

It arrived today bluetongue.gif

It's a lot smaller than I thought, slightly bigger than my GP32. The battery came fully charged so I had a quick play...

Metroid Prime Hunters demo - went through the training and the controls work surprisingly well, sort of like using a touch pad on a laptop. Graphics look nice and plays smoothly... might have to invest in this when it's released TheSmile.gif

Wario Ware Touched demo - total madness, yet strangely addictive crazy3.gif

Mario 64 DS - loved this on the n64, had a quick play through the unlocked mini games and it seems good... i'll give them all a proper testing tomorrow when I get more time bluetongue.gif

Humn. Well, for one thing, Nintendo has been in the business a while, knowing the ropes, but Sony has a great past. I havent tried any and dont plan to, but if I could, DS would be my choice, hoping to see some of the great Nintendo titles out in a brand new way, like Zelda, Mario, etc etc.

you guys dont see it do u?

what u post here isn't going to make any difference. I think we've reached the full extent of what arguing is going to achieve in this situation. you could debate about this from now until hell freezes over, there will always be another missinformed twit who wants to have a go at one of the systems without knowing the facts.

btw, the PSP is pwnage and i dont care what anyone says, they're just nintendo fanboy asslickers. headbang.gif

sry bout that i had 2 let off some steam.

I imported a DS a month or so ago, and I must say it is hands down the best handheld ever!
The touch screen control makes the games feel so interactive and 3D an analogue counts as about 8 or so 'buttons' (or 16 if its programed well), the touch screen has as many 'buttons' as there are pixels, you feel so much in control with the DS its great.
The fact there are two screens make for great SMV's and the use of a radar, inventory etc at the same time is very nice.
Sound quality is really good, dual speakers means the sound feels more centered on the game rather than to the side. The sound can go nicely loud too if you are addicted to the zelda theme (and we all are), and the quality is near perfect.
Graphics are amazing and you allways feel your playing a tv console in your hands, a feeling which really makes you happy.
Link up is very easy, the end of wires is much celebrated. Having tested the range you can get about 100 metres with no obstructions, and about 25 metres or so if theres a door, wall etc in the way. Scince i dont intend to play with someone in a feild the 25m does nicely meaning you can sit pretty much were you like.
Pictochat is i must say not paticular usefull as a chat scince talking to the person would be easier. Thats not to say its not fun, playing pictionary, tic tac toe and other is a lot of fun. And just generally drawing passes time and can be a laugh with someone else.
The voice recognition I havnt tried yet but i have seen how it can be used, ike blowing it to move something which is innovative and will make for some nice quirky games.
I have 2 games right now Mario and the metroid demo, and both of them (In my opinion anyway) control like a dream, mario took a while to learn but once id got the hang of it I had a whole lot of fun. And metroid had the most perfect controls ive ever used you can look at any angle and shoot in a split second.
The game boy advance playing is good too having a second game in incase you get bored of one is very nice, its a shame classic and colour games cant be played but then that would need a bigger processor *shrugs*.
The stylus is a nice size and slots in the back neatly, the thumb strap is too short and pretty useless but at least its a freebie.

Well theres my 2 gil *Shrugs*
