alright. sort of like ohtarens speech forum, yet this lets people debate about all things runescapey, or other things if the need be. it will be in basic debate formal style, and there will be sign up posts. once a debate has started, only the debaters may post. when i get on later ill post a more thorough definition of "Basic Debate"

alright. here is an outline.

Basically there are two teams. the Affirmative, and the Negative.
The Affirmative start the debate, trying to support a new idea. there is a topic. the affirmative job is to define words in that topic. so lets say that or argument is about the new fatigue system. the topic is "JaGeX Did well in creating the addition to fatigue." you would define JaGeX (The company that created the game "runescape") Creating (Making, inventing, building etc...) and Fatigue (Exhaustion or tiredness resulting in energy output of the body."
if there is a problem, the negative side can take it to the judges AFTER the debate. The Affirmative can define things the way they want. fro example, if you are an idiot, and didnt want to feel like defining fatigue: Fatigue is the art of being fat, and eager.

bad definition. you go now.

The the Affirmative side giees their opening statement. this is the first speaker. He will state what they want to change, or what their mission is, and cover as much stuff with as you can. if you miss anything, dont worry.

then the fNegative speaker stands up. they must prove how the current or former way of doing things is correct, and if possible, shoot down any ideas that the affirmative first stated.

now the second affirmative speaker stands. they defend their ideas and such, do what they can, finish off any open ended statments. beware... if you leave any points.. you leave yourself in a dangerous position.

Second negative. This is the chance to kill. Crush anything that the affirmative left open. do whatever you can to prove that you are right and they are wrong.

now is the time for questioning. there is time for 6 questions. 3 from each side.

after that, the negative team does a summary of why the ideas of the affirmative are weak, and the curent ideas are ideal.

then the affirmative finishes with their summary.

then we have our 3 judges. they will look for any rule violations etc. they then decide which team presented the best argument and decide a victor.

you can not insult, swear, or present any rude things in your speeches.

yeah!! thats alot like what I had in mind for the purpose of the speech forum. a slight modification to your idea though that I would like to add, is mabee we could combine the two forums. in the debate forum, you can also post speeches about a debatable subject. There are a few rules about what you can post. IE it has to be debatable, had to be so long... this can serve to set off debates on certain subjects because many people in seed, I think at least, can be eloquent writters and have very firey and energetic styles.
