I recently finished my first "Chicken Soup for the Soul" (Chicken Soup for the Jewish Soul) book, and I went about thinking. I found that you're allowed to submit your own stories/poems to upcoming books. I happened to have decided to write a poem for the upcoming book, Chicken Soup for Mom's and their Boys Soul. It's just a short little thing, but I hope you like it. If it comes out with my name in it, well, then the mystery of Hyperfried is solved. bluetongue.gif So here goes!

She’s Always There

From the time we are born to the senior prom
Your mother is always there.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Super-Mom!
Your mother is always there.

For your scrapes to heartbreaks and all in between
Your mother is always there.

And from your infant years past the time you’re a teen
Your mother is always there.

Need to talk?
There she is.

Homework help?
She’s a wiz.

From joy to sorrow, all that you can withstand
Your mother is always there.

Here for some comfort, lending a hand
Your mother is always there.

She’s the one who taught you to walk
Your mother was always there.

And need I mention why you can talk?
Your mother was always there.

Warm hugs
From the heart.

School event?
She’ll take part.

The first day of school is always a scare
Your mother is always there.

But some of that pressure, your mom will bear
Your mother is always there.

From Pre-K to 12th, she’s part of your life
Your mother is always there.

From happy times to bitter strife
Your mother is always there.

Warm meals?
She’s the best.

So kindly
A step above the rest.

From your first locker combo to love’s first kiss
Your mother is always there.

Not a single day of your life could she possibly miss
Your mother is always there.

Hard studying for tests and projects near-done
Your mother is always there.

She’ll help you of course – you’re her son.
Your mother is always there.

Going to college?
She wishes she could go too.

She helps with your life
So that you’ll get through.

From the last days of her life, kindle her dying flame
Your mother will always be there.

But an inch from the end she’ll love you the same.
Your mother will always be there.

But why, you might ask. Why is it that
Your mother is always there?

Because she loves you, of course
And she will always care.

But what about dads. I swear, that book is really full of sexists.

I've read it, and I just... bleh!
HI! I'M BACK SPORADICALLY! Nobody probably remembers me :(

well, there is no mention of dads because for some reason, moms are the rulers of the family sad.gif
This was totally out-dated.
Now it's updated.
I think?
Yeah.

As I said, it was for a Mother - Son edition. I couldn't mention the dads, lest I prove the lack of respect towards mothers. bluetongue.gif
