As evident by many things, the members of this forum are all unique. bluetongue.gif

Some people are crazy (I won't list names, but the list is quite extensive biglaugh.gif).
Some people believe in fighting the power. (headbang.gif)
Some people like nothing more than learning. costumed-smiley-089.gif

Which of the above "philosophies" do you agree with? Talk about them. View the pros and cons that strictly following each "philosophy" presents. And, above all, laugh at yourself.

Let the moral and ethical discussions begin!

(other) i don't know, I kinda role with the ounches and i question things..so i realt don't know. Life can be hard and I gues I choose my philosophy on life from any sorce and my heart...

I strive to stand out, be different. I have never been cool. Ever. I choose how I want to be when I want to. Being different isn't in clothes, which I can't afford, it's about not being yourself. icon_worship.gif

i would either go with the first third or other
other being " if its broekn or isnt working, hit it with a blunt object or blow it up"

I think I see some of myself in all of these choices... or I see some of each choice in me. Whichever.

"Look for the best in everyone and forgive their flaws." I will think highly of you until you give me a reason not to.

"Roll with the punches." Hakuna matata! If something bad happens, don't let it get you down. Deal with it and move on.

"Judge carefully and choose carefully." Don't act on a whim. Think things through. On the other hand, let your instincts help you along a bit.

"Stay the course and be disciplined." My recent venture into Parkour has taught me to see things not as obstacles, but as opportunities. Work with the problem instead of against it. Don't give up unless giving up is the only decent option you have left.

"Fight for your rights." I'm a straight white male, which means for the most part I don't need to worry about this... and that sickens me. So I fight for other people's rights instead. Though, I have been known to defend myself against ******* corporations bluetongue.gif

"Question everything." Sure. If you accept everything, you learn nothing. Some things aren't exactly meant to be questioned, but other times you just have to ask.

"Be different (crazies of the world, UNITE!)." My philosophy here is to neither intentionally conform nor intentionally be different. I just try to be myself. See, I used to have different "masks" I'd put on. One for home, one for school, one for church, one for my friends, one for online, and so on. I'd act differently depending on who I was around; I'd "play to my audience." I try to avoid that now, though I still find myself resisting (I'm working on it ;-P). It's given me more self-respect for not being a fake, and other people respect me for it as well.

"And of course, the misanthrope view: Humans are stupid." It may conflict with the first idea up there, but... yes. Fortunately I have the good sense to not assume this is always the case grnwink.gif

Somewhere in between "be different" and "humans are stupid". Not that I'm trying to be different, but I end up being different because I am how I want to be unlike most other people.

At this point, I'm going to say other. I don't really want to adapt a philosophy for my life at this point - I just live it as it comes.
