I was going to suggest the iRiver H320, which I requested for my birthday... but you said no. $300, 20 gigs, plenty of features.

iPods are also good, even though you have to deal with iTunes and such.

Those are the only ones I have experience with (through friends). Currently I only own an mp3-CD player by Sony... it's decent enough, but I want something better now bluetongue.gif

I have dell, works fine, except for some reason it has frozen twice, but all you have to do is take a safty pin and stick it in the reset button and it works

20 gigs for $250

I would get the Ipod if I were you, no matter how much you despise it.

No, I've been using it for a few weeks instead of Winamp (installed it for the Pepsi thing) and it's actually quite nice. I was referring to having to load the iPod through iTunes instead of just being able to drag-n-drop. I've heard horror stories of an "error 69" or somesuch... <_<

You said not the i river or i pod, i would suggest the i river, but other wise, Go for Creative, no probs. Cheaper, 5 gig muvo with fm radio and stuff, comes with other features, or there is the Zen touch, 20, 30 or 40 gig same features and stuff, pretty good
