When Player Killing, you can use any of the 3 styles of combat: Melee, Range or magic. This week I'll focus on the melee side of PKing and the other styles will be covered in coming weeks.

Melee is probably the most common way people PK. While there are alot of mages and rangers, if you go PKing you'll find the majority of your team will be melee based.
There are a number of things to consider when melee PKing:

What weapon?
In F2P, I recommend rune scimitar. It's not the strongest of weapons, but it hits fast and is reasonably accurate. Rune battle axe is ok to use too, it is stronger than the scimmy, but it's alot slower.

In P2P, Dragon scimitar is good but if you can't use that, then a dragon longsword is good too. Or for a cheaper weapon take a poisoned dragon dagger, it has a nice speacial plus you'll probably poison your opponent. (But it's rather weak.)

Armour?
Well, what can you afford? Wear full rune if you can afford it. If you think you'd prefer something cheaper, I wouldn't recommend wearing anything less than full addy.
Some people wear range armour when melee PKing, this isn't such a good idea because it doesn't offer as much protection as metal armour.
However, if you're on P2P and can wear black dragonhide armour, that's decent protection (it also has a good magic defense), but it still doesn't offer the protection from rangers and other meleers that rune armour does.

Ammy?
P2P: Dragonstone amulet of glory F2P: Diamond amulet of power. Or once again, if you're going for the cheaper option, a ruby amulet of strength will do.

So now you're geared up and ready to melee. I'll cover the other styles in coming weeks, then I think I'll move on to strategies. So make sure you keep an eye on Esthar grnwink.gif

Looking good there, Final. TheSmile.gif

Looking forward to the strategy parts, I think that's where I'm mostly lacking. bluetongue.gif

Nice post F-man. I'll keep that in mind when I'm in the "melee" PK mood bluetongue.gif .
