Meteorological Tower

"Hello there," the wizard said to the man looking through the telescope. "Might I ask what you are gazing at?" he said as he turned his head, his cold blue eyes searching the sea.

"Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow."

Lucien enters the facility, climbing upwards to meet the other two observers. Cupping a hand over his visage he'd look outward to the sea. "Mmm?...Something interesting out there?"

"Ah, the sea. Quite tranquil, yet such an untamed and unpredictable animal it is. I had this tower built so maybe... one day... we can truly understand it. That's my passion really.. The weather and how our world works. Not like the druids over to the east, I know that a more logical answer exists and I am going to find it one day."

Lucien rolls his eyes and smirks.
What a diehard!
"Well..Wouldn't it seem more logical to go out there on a boat to observe it, rather than stare at it from here? I've been out quite a few times, I must say, I enjoy it. but...I do believe it's here because of that whole 'Moon wave tides theory'...Then again...They all fell off their rockers a year back."

"Druids?" Alandar said, looking back to him. "Can you tell me more about these druids?"

"Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow."

*Looking over at Lucien...*
"Why yes, I've been out there many times. To experience the sea one must go out into it... But to really get a feel for the winds, and the currents... Sometimes measurements need to be taken high up like in this wooden tower. The land, the sea, the air... They're all pieces of the eternal puzzle."
*Turning toward Alandar*
"Why, yes, the druids of Durencia. The conjurors and guardians of nature, or so they call themselves. One can dabble in magic all he wants though... Without logical understanding it will always be missing an essence of truth, or so I like to think."
*The meteorologist laughs quietly and shakes his head*

"Perhaps I'll sell it to you later, but for now I am on a quest to learn it's origin. I think it might have come from an underwater city of gorloks, a fish-like race. Do you know of any cities, or perhaps you could look through your telescope and look for one?"

"They are a race of human-like creatures who live in colonies scattered throughout the world's seas. They have long fins coming off the upper back near the neck and secondary gills for breathing under water, these creatures are some of the best swimmers in the known world. But that's not the point. Do you think that the currents perhaps carried the effigy?"
