Otay.. So there I was walking through Varrock, where I see a guy specifically advertise adamant armor trimming.
Now, those of you who know me well enough.. know I'm the person to report asap, and try to either correct them, or tell them off.
Well this guy wasn't correcting very well. Calling me an idiot with an extended vocabulary (

) Saying to me and everyone else he had 56 mage, and that's what you could do. Trim adamant armor. So, it was me, and 5 other people actually telling him off, when I notice my mod friend is online..
The conversation went as follows. (My friend will be known as WB.
Me: Themasta878, adamant armor trimmer. Yat.
Mod WB: Where at?
Me: Varrock square.
Mod WB: I'm on my way. As to which he logs out.

I then tell Themasta878 (you can add him and mess around with him if you care to.) that my friend is coming and wants his addy armor trimmed.
We wait...
And wait..
And wait a bit more.

I tell themasta that his name is WB (Shortened, don't want to give him away) and he'd be logging in soon. Not 4 seconds after I said that, there he is. And Themasta is stupid enough to say once more he'll trim addy armor.

Mod WB is fast to it. Reported and muted. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE was running around laughing at themasta. And after WB had left, I went to him and told him;

"yes.. my 'friend' was indeed a player mod, and just to tell you again, you were muted. kthxbye"

I assume he's downright ticked at me for pointing him out as an idiot.. but y'know, always helps in the gratification of making idiots look like fools in from of a full town square.

Themasta878, you're an idiot. Congratz.

(Edit: if this needs to be moved somewhere else, could a mod plx do so? thanks.)
(Edit2: Actually, don't msg him for a whiiillee.. I was told by Mod WB that he won't be speaking for a decent amount of time.)

Has Jagex even added any new player mods since they started the program? Other than the few I know, I've only run into one... and the ones I know I hardly see anyway. Even when I played regularly I'd hardly see any.

Also, how does Jagex pick player mods? Activity on the official forums? Abuse reports in-game? Lack of reports against you? The FAQ was kinda vague...

I have 2 friends that were previously promoted to pmods. I'll ask them what it took to get in. If they can tell me. (WB couldn't tell me the length of time people are muted for.. somethings kept confidential.)

from what i understand from the faq, having ANY reports against you pretty much disqualifys you forever from being a Pmod. (makes me disqualifyed, i've had several random strangers walk up to me and say "i reported you" "why?" i ask. "for calling me names and being mean to me" (i've never seen this person, and i almost never talk to people ingame because so many are stupid). peh. i would imagine hveing a lot of valid reports dent in from your acount would count towards being a Pmod a lot though.

anyway, congrats on powning the scamer Kaiser.

I don't think having reports sent in does anything.. having LEGIT reports, maybe. But some people misuse it. And if sending in many valid reports does it, I should be a mod by now. On my lvl 6, even. Just tonight I've reported (with good reason) 9 people. In about... 15 minutes or so.

I think they pay more attention to the handwritten ones...The ones where you go to them, e-mail them directly, tell them what the problem was, attatch a picture, SHA-BAM! You got em jailed...
