Durnit, bigrat... Got there before me. bluetongue.gif Stupid school... Anyways, I don't believe Pendragon is right. I believe that the answer is a mountain.

"Roots as nobody sees"... Well, they're "rooted" into the Earth, so to speak, I guess. MUCH taller than trees, "up up it goes", well, they're quite high, some up into the clouds, in fact. However, mountains don't really GROW, as a living thing would. They can get higher, as the Himalayas do, but they don't actually grow by themselves.

Hyperfried is correct.

The wind. The wind "howls" at some times, it "flutters", because it flies all over the place... The wind can bite you, in saying that, when it's cold, it hurts. And it can almost "whisper" when you hear a soft breeze.

It's a sun on the flowers. "An eye in a blue face", the sun in the sky. It saw an eye in a green face, which is basically the circular "eye" coming off the green stem/face of a flower, which it shined on. The flower eye is like the sky eye because, well, they're both circular and radiant, and the flower's eye is low and close to the ground, as opposed to being high in the sky.

Riddle #22
It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.
It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.
