It has

Some day between now and two weeks from now the top poster for the day will receive the medal (as long as it isn't through excessive spam). It isn't cumulative over this period, depends entirely on who is active on the pre-determined day.

dont misunderstand me, but i think this is a bad idea. you're asking for meaningful posts but still (even in this very same thread) spam is happening. it's like asking to spam seed
"Spam" is anything meaningless or off topic for no logical reason. Spam can be anything from multi-paragraph to a single emoticon. At the same time, something that is on topic and 'meaningful' can be a single emoticon long if not obsessive or done for the sake of posting, and if there is a reason or message behind it. A short length has a general correlation with spam, but it isn't what makes it spam.
I'm not asking for long psychological posts about a theory saying that King Tut could have invented the first toothpick and how it relates to the above statement about runecrafting (backed up with evidence from the concept of the electromagnetic spectrum and the Watergate scandal), but I'm just asking that what people post is on topic.

If someone is obviously spamming it up he/she will be disqualified, but there's nothing wrong with posting more than usual. New posts and threads keep the place alive and interesting (and one cannot expect everything to be informative), if this helps promote members to post then it would benefit the community. Members are complaining about activity, and increasing the number of posts and threads is the first step to fixing it from the site's perspective. Since others don't seem to want to do it I may as well give incentive.

Besides, this hasn't really sparked much spam that I can see (comments aren't necessarily 'spam'), and members shouldn't be so serious as to lose their sense of humor.

Cspace = Quote Dominator

Looks like the ribbons thing but in medal form.

A few seem to really be shooting for this, hehe. If anyone is really posting a lot (like Darkness and Hyper yesterday), and don't happen to win on the chosen day, I'll give another medal as well to them. Won't be the same, but it will still be unique and a subject of mystery in the future.

How about a medal to someone who makes 1,000 posts in one day? Lol, think of the sheer chaos.
And I was thinkin', maybe witht eh new DZ newspaper being developed, we could give out a certain medal to those who write an amazing article/review. Like spectacular-spectacular.
A medal in every area of SeeD gives a nice variety and lets SeeDs see what other SeeDs specialize in.
