Photoshopping Warning: Newbie photoshopping inside

I later decided I didn't really like the thingy in the corner, so I took it out:

Anybody is free to use any of the pictures, except the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th. They can only be used by the people whose name are on it, if they wish to.

Constructive critisism is appreciated.

By far the best beggining photoshops ever.
Is #3 brushing or filters?
If its brushing, can you gimme a link to the brush you used?
