At about 8:30, I got out of the house. My mom and I drove my two sisters to camp, and then we went to the supermarket. We stayed there for a while, to get things for our trip to the shore this coming week... And somehow, we managed to spend about $300.
It gets weirder.
When we got home, I noticed that my room had been semi-destroyed. You see, we have two people who clean the house... They're Polish, and understand little to no English. My mom had originally instructed them to clean my sisters' rooms... And they did just the opposite. Instead of cleaning their rooms, they "cleaned" my room... And put it in various states of disarray. My bedside table was all messed up; everything had been put into weird little piles... My dresser... ew. They took everything on it... and pushed it into my top two drawers. You have to understand, however, this is even worse than it sounds. You see, I collect Magic cards. I must have at least a thousand of them, piled up on my dresser... And they were all pushed, carelessly, into my drawer. I still haven't fixed 'em. Also, my computer table, LEGO shelf (When I was smaller, I made tons of LEGO creations by myself, without any instructions. It's pretty cool.), and my trophy shelf were... killed, let's put it that way.
It took me the better part of an hour to get everything mainly cleaned up, and the Magic cards are still messed up.
Of course, that wasn't enough. Later on, my mom went out to lunch with some friends. Obviously, I opted not to come, so I went about business at home. 12:45pm... the power goes out. On a bright, sunny day. What. The. Crap. That was really weird... but I figured that the power company might've been doing routine maintenance, or maybe a squirrel fried itself...
Still not over.
About ten minutes later, I started to hear a loud, beeping noise. The beeps came about every couple of seconds. It was actually kind of creepy... It took me 5-10 minutes to trace it to the source... the carbon monoxide monitor in my parents' room. It was beeping, and on the LED display, it had in red letters, "GAS".
Naturally, I ran downstairs, got the dog, and ran out of the house.
I went to a neighbor's house, told them my story, and went in. Called my parents a few times, and, eventually, I got through to them. Apparently, it had been triggered by the blackout, somehow. Still, apparently, I did the right thing.
A few other things happened during the day... but nothing so weird. But, man! What a day it's been...
And it's not even over yet!
